Under the Climate Change Act 2008, the UK Government produces a Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA) and a
National Adaptation Programme (NAP) on a five-year cycle (see page 9 above). The 2017, the CCRA identified the following substantial risks facing human and natural systems in this country:74 1. Flooding and coastal change risks to communities, businesses and infrastructure (more action needed) 2. Risks to health, well-being and productivity from high temperatures (more action needed) 3. Risks of shortages in the public water supply, and for agriculture, energy generation and industry – with impacts on freshwater ecology (more action needed)
