Lakeland Motor Museum
Explore the history of road transport throughout the 20th century at Lakeland Motor Museum, which is home to over 30,000 exhibits. Housed in a converted mill in the heart of the Lake District, the museum is just minutes from Lake Windermere and enjoys a very convenient location by the side of the A590.

The Dock Museum
Approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the motor museum is a hidden gem – The Dock Museum in Barrow-in-Furness. Built over an impressive original Victorian Graving Dock, The Dock Museum traces the history of Barrow - from a tiny 19th Century hamlet to the world’s largest producer of tin and steel and then to a major ship-building force, within 40 years. Enjoy the wealth of internationally important Vickers ship models on display and discover more about the history of Furness.

Photo Opportunities: Advise your guests to take a stroll round the Museum’s grounds, which overlook the Walney Channel. In the distance they will see the Lake District Fells – Black Comb is often visible from the viewing point.

Railway
Just 5 minutes’ drive from Lakeland Motor Museum, is The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Steam engines haul passengers through the tranquil scenery of the Leven Valley. The train heaves its passengers up the steeply graded line, leisurely transporting guests to Lakeside Station, where connections are available with Windermere Lake Cruises.
