I believe that there has never been a greater time for healthcare professionals and those working within society, to look at their ongoing development. As the shape of services changes, the scope and remit of professional practice develops over time and many organisations are faced with workforce challenges. It’s in these times that we need to remember that learning and personal development are key to lifelong learning, job satisfaction and the care and interactions that we provide on a daily basis.

Here at the University of Cumbria we have many years’ experience in providing continuing professional development which can lead to an academic award or be undertaken to support the development of knowledge and skills of an individual. Furthermore, many of our modules and programmes can be studied online or may have a combination of face to face and online learning in recognition of the advances we have in technology and the demands on busy individuals in their professional lives.

I am proud of the programmes we offer here at the University and do hope you will take the time to be part of our community and learn with us.
