PRELUDE

GREETING

INTROIT

Joyful Acclamation — Michael Eithun

†OPENING PRAYER

Remember, O Lord, what you have wrought in us and not what we deserve; and, as you have called us to your service, make us worthy of our calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

†HYMN OF PROCESSION

#66 Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven — LAUDA ANIMA

†AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen.

†GLORIA PATRI

#71 Glory Be to the Father — GREATOREX Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

RECOGNITION OF GRADUATING SENIORS

Wherever you wander, no matter how dark the night, remember our deep love for you and the welcome you will always find in God’s family. May God’s beauty, unconditional love, mercy, and grace chase after you every day of your life. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

SCRIPTURE — 2 Corinthians 4:5-12

This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.

SERMON

OFFERTORY

WE RENEW OUR COMMITMENT

Forevermore — Dan Forrest Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Word of God, the Cornerstone, yesterday, today, forever, seated on His heavenly throne. In this world that God created, broken by the fall of man, God remains the sure foundation, steadfast and unshakeable forevermore. O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home. God will not forget his promise, ever faithful to remain, never to forsake or leave us, by our side both night and day. Our tomorrows hold no secrets that the Father does not know; we can trust Him, ever working for His glory and our good, forevermore. Under the shadow of Thy throne thy saints have felt secure; sufficient is Thine arm alone, and our defense is sure. Praise the Author of creation, of the world and all it holds; Word Eternal, standing firm, our God is God forevermore. O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, be Thou our guard while life shall last, and our eternal home.

†DOXOLOGY

#95 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow — OLD 100th Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below; praise God above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

†PRAYER OF DEDICATION

Almighty and forgiving God, we your unworthy servants give you most humble thanks for all your goodness and loving kindness, to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. Give us such an awareness of your mercies, that our hearts may be thankful, and that we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Amen.

“What’s Faith Got to Do With It?” - as teenagers, we have all kinds of thoughts about what we might be or do when we grow up. The possibilities are endless and so very exciting! Come listen to different ‘grown ups’ from our church family share what it is that they do (their work), how they decided what they wanted to do with their life, how they got there, and what their faith has to do with it. Such a great opportunity to hear from and be inspired by some very exceptional people. You won’t want this series this summer. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13
