PRELUDE GREETING
INTROIT
Hymn of Praise — René Clausen
Alleluia. Praise God in His holy temple. Amen, amen, alleluia, amen! (Psalm 150)
†OPENING PRAYER
Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
†HYMN OF PROCESSION
#304 Easter People, Raise Your Voices — REGENT’S SQUARE
†AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare:
We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power, and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children’s good. We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man, the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death. We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need. We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth. Amen.
SCRIPTURE — 1 Corinthians 11:23-24
This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.
SERMON OFFERTORY
WE RENEW OUR COMMITMENT
Let Us Talents and Tongues Employ — Bradley Ellingboe
Let us talents and tongues employ, reaching out with a shout of joy; bread is broken, the wine is poured, Christ is spoken and seen and heard. Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again, pass the word around: loaves abound! Christ is able to make us one, at the table he sets the tone, teaching people to live to bless, love in word and in deed express. Jesus calls us in, sends us out, bearing fruit in a world of doubt, gives us love to tell, bread to share, God (Immanuel) everywhere!
†DOXOLOGY
#95 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow — OLD 100th Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below; praise God above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
†PRAYER OF DEDICATION
Almighty and forgiving God, we your unworthy servants give you most humble thanks for all your goodness and loving kindness, to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. Give us such an awareness of your mercies, that our hearts may be thankful, and that we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
WE CELEBRATE HOLY COMMUNION
INVITATION TO COMMUNION
Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess before God and one another.
CONFESSION AND PARDON
The congregation is invited to follow the communion liturgy beginning on page 12 of the hymnal.
THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
RECEIVING OF ELEMENTS
MUSIC AT COMMUNION
Every Time We Eat this Bread — Ken Canedo
The congregation will be invited to sing:
Every time we eat this bread, every time we drink this cup, we proclaim the death of the Lord until He comes.
CLOSING PRAYER
Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
WE GO AS GOD’S PEOPLE INTO THE WORLD
†HYMN #312 Hail the Day that Sees Him Rise — LLANFAIR

CENTENARY HELPS STUDENTS SUCCEED

Schools determine students who may not have access to food over the weekend and are partnered with an organization through the Second Harvest Food Bank. They receive boxes of meals that are distributed to the students. Centenary partners with Brunson Elementary, Wiley Middle School, Reynolds High School and the Winston Salem Street School. Are you interested in partnering with us to help students gain access to food? You can do so by contacting Kate May (kmay@centenary-ws.org/ext 1331) and she can tell you about all the ways we need your help.

Beginning April 7, join us for a brand-new series in Youth Sunday school, “Faith Face to Face”. This new series is all about exploring your questions of faith. We asked you what your questions are; you told us what you’re wondering about, and together we will find the answers! In 1 Corinthians 14: 33 we are reminded that “God is a God not of confusion, but of peace”. We can’t wait for you to be part of this great opportunity to take one question of faith each week and seek God’s wisdom so that we might more grow in the likeness and love of Jesus.
COLLEGE & BOARDING SCHOOL
CARE PACKAGES
At our Confirmation and Graduation Recognition services each year we promise to stay the course of faith with our church babies no matter where they go. One of the ways we do this is to send a ‘little love’ to our church babies away at school. Our Pathfinders class lovingly packs all kinds of goodies and reminds them that as they go into final exams, we are praying for them.
If you have a college student or a boarding school student, please contact Tammy Pollock Director of Youth Ministry tpollock@centenary-ws.org with their address. The deadline to request a package for your student is April 18.
