OUR COVER The “Christ’s Ministry” window is located at the east side of the Nave. The dove, with its tri-radiant nimbus, is one if the earliest forms used to represent the Holy Spirit. Proceeding from the central figure of the dove are seven rays, each tipped with a smaller dove. Seven is the perfect number and is associated with the seven gifts of the spirit. You can learn more about the windows of the church by reading Centenary United Methodist Church Symbols: The Story Told in Glass, Stone and Fabric.

In the September/ October issue, we will be taking a deep dive into Intentional Hospitality. Rest assured, our team of writers are busy finishing up those articles. In the meantime, that doesn’t mean that Centenary has come to a screeching halt for the summer. On the contrary, there are so many amazing things happening on the church campus and the mission field. As I am writing this introduction, our youth ministry is busy finishing last minute tasks as they prepare to go on the annual Hinton Mission trip. Our children’s

ministry is busy planning Vacation Bible School and a great group of volunteers are busy in the 3rd floor conference room collating sheets of paper to go in back packs for the Pathway to K program. These are just a few of the activities happening as I walked through the building. And how could I forget the Senior Adult luncheon? A packed Memorial Auditorium is enjoying a performance from the incredible Kristen Schwecke. Included in this issue, you will see the advertising posters for the major events happening during the summer. I hope you to take some time and

Something I ask of each of you, pray. Pray for our church leaders. As you are reading this, our leaders are hard at work planning events which will happen in the fall season. You will be hearing more about events in which you may participate in the coming weeks. There are lots of exciting things happening. I’ll see you at Centenary. 
