What is linear design? Linear design is a strategy where each stage in the design process is completed in a set sequence. Each new stage is not started until the previous one has been finished. Each stage is only completed once.

Lacks flexibility, so can stifle creativity and innovation. Provides few opportunities for evaluation or for improvements to be made.
