• Stories, stickers, songs and games make developing English skills fun for young learners • Topics from a range of subjects, including maths and science, prepare children to learn in English across the curriculum • A ‘Think about it’ feature at the start of each unit gets children thinking about a topic, drawing on prior knowledge and developing early critical-thinking skills • Children reflect on what they have learnt in the ‘Look what I can do!’ section at the end of each unit, an important step in becoming a successful learner • Includes exercises to support differentiation so that all learners can make progress

Cambridge Global English Starters is an engaging and exciting course for preparing young children with the basic skills for learning English at primary school. In this book you’ll find three units, each with a story linked to a topic. These range from ‘the classroom’ to ‘feelings’ and introduce learners to letters, colours, numbers and more. Through songs, drawing, games and matching activities children develop their speaking, listening and motor skills along with early comprehension, reading and writing skills. Children are encouraged to build their vocabulary by relating content to their experiences – the first steps to critical thinking and active learning. This book, along with the accompanying Activity Book A and Fun with Letters and Sounds A, allows for five hours of teaching a week.
