CASE STUDY | TEATRO DEL MONDO Analysis Partner: Kevin Valentino The design process began with an in-depth analysis of Aldo Rossi’s Teatro Del Mondo. The ideas and principles learned from this analysis strongly influenced the design of the music venue. Drawings and diagrams of the project exposed primary design principles of threshold and geometry.

Fall 2012 | Professor Ann Cederna This firestation on Wisconsin Avenue aims to take advantage of the site’s close proximity to American University and the Tenlytown metro stop by encouraging public interaction within the station. A passage through the building grants the pedestrian views of the apparatus bay and the happenings of the firestation. The public can also take advantange both the community conference room inside and the elevated public green space.

Fall 2011 | Instructor Christina Cole This sophmore project involved creating space in a cliffside through the actions of excavating, carving, and extruding. The goal was to create a space that evokes emotion as well as provides views from the cliff out into the sea through the various levels spaces inside the project.
