Welcome to step into the world of Hubert Le Gall! For his first solo-show in Asia we have curated some of his most emblematic pieces, as well as new creations exclusively created for Singapore, such as the Orchid Flower table. Hubert Le Gall's work appears at once familiar and unfamiliar to the viewer’s eye. Most notably, Andy Warhol’s Daisies become a side-table and Jean Pierre Raynaud’s Pot becomes armchairs. There are dogs holding lights to guide your way, ostriches peeking out from lampshades, a sheep escaping from a pack of wolves, and happy whales enticing you to take a seat on them. Try and find Pinocchio who cut his nose off with a saw, who has left a leafy branch behind. It’s not hard to get lost in Le Gall’s overflowing imagination, which lie somewhere between contemporary art and design. He admits, “I don’t see myself as a designer because I have more an artistic approach than a design approach. But do I see myself as an artist? I don’t know because I make decorative art; I don’t paint. I always say that I am a creator of furniture. I am more an artist than a designer. That’s why I’m more interested in the world of art than the world of decoration.” We welcome you to take a journey with us into the artist's magical realm and discover the wonder known as Hubert Le Gall.

"Flowers run all over four sides to better conceal the function. The chest of drawers is intended as a piece of sculpture. The bronze flowers are treated like a black and white silk screen. They’re supposed to be paintings. The Wood coated in imitation wood resin is engraved with leaves. The chest of drawers is playing hide and seek."
