SCHEDULE NOTES: The Falcons, like the Regents, haven't won in their last six games dating back to September 10. CUW nearly upset NACC-leading Aurora last Saturday, 20-19, which could have snapped the longest losing streak in the NACC era. Today's game is anticipated, as it is Homecoming with many pre- and post-game festivities scheduled.
Falcons Notes
• LAST TIME OUT FOR CUW: The Falcons twice had possessions late in the fourth quarter with a chance to upset NACC-leading Aurora, but gained just 22 yards on nine plays, in the 20-19 road loss. Concordia Wisconsin was led by Aaron Nixon's 292 yards passing and one touchdown, while he also rushed for 48 yards and a score. THE SERIES (SINCE 2008): Concordia Wisconsin owns the series against Rockford, winning all eight games during the NACC era. The Falcons have outscored the Regents 30375, which includes two shutouts and four games allowing seven or fewer points. • HONORING THE 2006 UNDEFEATED TEAM: Prior to the game, the 2006 undefeated team is formally being inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for their achievements and will be honored at halftime. During the 2006 season they finished 10-0 in the regular season and hosted a NCAA Division III Playoff game. They are the only team in the NCAA era to finish the regular season with an undefeated record. • KEY PLAYER TO WATCH FOR CUW: Running back Isaiah Tenette has rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games, while also catching 10 passes. This season he has 350 kick returns yards and a touchdown. • MATCHUP TO WATCH: CUW's offensive line versus Rockford's defensive unit who has the fewest sacks (9) of any team in the league. The Falcons have, however, allowed 28 sacks in eight games this year. • WHAT IS AT STAKE: A chance to win their first NACC game of the season for the Falcons. SCHEDULE NOTES: Rockford has struggled on the road this season, losing all four of those contests by an average of 36 points. The Regents hasn't won a road conference game since November 15 of 2014 (W, 25-11 at Concordia Chicago). Overall, Rockford has won just two road league games since the inception of the NACC prior to the 2008 season.
Regents Notes
• LAST TIME OUT FOR ROCKFORD: Rockford scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, but by that point the game was in the hands of Albion who won 63-20. Andrew Perez threw for 202 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Cornielius Downes and Jared Johnson each picked off a pass.
• SPREADING THE BALL THROUGH THE AIR: Rockford relies heavily on Chance Manning to be the work horse on the ground, but when Perez and Darion Hornickel go to the air they have many options. The Regents have three wide receivers with at least 28 receptions. Kalan Miller and Joe Breeden have a combined 903 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. As well, Mar Sean Vercher has 316 receiving yards and a team-leading six touchdowns. • KEY PLAYER TO WATCH FOR ROCKFORD: Running back Chance Manning who has 719 rushing yards (second most in the NACC) and four touchdowns. He also has nine receptions for 152 yards and two touchdown grabs. Earlier this season Manning ran for three-straight 100-yard games. • MATCHUP TO WATCH: Rockford's inability to score points versus Concordia Wisconsin's lackluster scoring defense in NACC-only games. The Regents are averaging just 17.8 points in conference games, while the Falcons are allowing 32.2 points.
• WHAT IS AT STAKE: A chance for Rockford to win its first NACC game of the season and defeat Concordia Wisconsin for the first time in program history. The Regents have been outscored 149-41 in Mequon. OFFICIALS Referee: Jim Baker Line Judge: Ted Starck
