Stairlifts Every year thousands of people look for a solution to the problems posed by the difficulty they face using their stairs.

We also buy back unwanted stairlifts in some cases.

A stairlift is a great value solution to help you remain independent, safe and to allow you to remain in your own home.

Straight stairlifts are suitable for use where a stairlift only needs to travel in one straight line; without any bends. They can be fitted within a couple of hours and next day installation is available in some cases.

By choosing one of Jay-Care`s stairlifts you are joining many other people who have done so. Jay-Care has a wide range of stairlifts to cover all situations. Indoor or Outdoor, Straight or Curved. New or Reconditioned. Next day installation is possible in some cases and full service and repair packages are available. Curved stairlifts

Curved stairlifts have tracks that are specifically designed to suit staircases that have a bend, intermediate landings or are spiral. Curved stairlifts tend to be bespoke. Our staff will explain all the technical reasons and specifications patiently and thoroughly. Our technical photo survey will show you how the final product may look in your home. Jay-Care can offer industry leading manufacturing times on made to measure curved stairlifts and we also use our photographic survey system to ensure the best fit possible.

Popular questions about stairlifts For many people making the decision to have a stairlift installed can be a daunting one. We have answered a few of the more common questions below.

Will I need to redecorate once my stairlift is installed?

Your new stairlift will be fitted to your staircase, not your wall so in most cases the answer will be no. In some instances we may need to have a handrail moved or a window ledge reduced in order to avoid clashes with you new stairlift, in which case some minor re-decoration may be needed after the lift is installed.

How long does it take to install a stairlift?

The complexity of your stairlift will determine how long it takes to fit your lift, however most lifts will only take between two to four hours to install.

What happens if there is a power cut?

There's no need to worry. Your Jay-Care stairlift is operated by batteries; these re-charge when your Stairlift is left on a

charge point. This means your stairlift will continue to work if the power supply is interrupted, for a limited number of trips. The Simplicity Series stairlifts will charge wherever they are left on the track.

What happens if I leave my stairlift off charge?

Audible and visual signals will alert you that your lift is not on a charge point. The power supply to the stairlift should remain switched on at all times. If stairlift batteries are allowed to go completely dead they may need to be replaced.

What if I want to have a new carpet?

Your stairlift can be removed and refitted to allow for the laying of new carpets. We offer removal and re-installation services.

How long will I have to wait for my stairlift?

This will depend on which lift you order. We can in some cases fit the very next day.

Stairlifts

Stairlift Accessories and Options Hinge track – Manual or Powered In order for the seat to get low enough for the user to sit on, it is necessary for the track to extend beyond the staircase to the hall floor. Some houses will have a doorway close to the bottom of the stairs and the track may intrude across this. In these circumstances a hinged track can be fitted. This means that the track can be folded away from the doorway giving clear access. Swivel Seat – Manual or Powered All our stairlfts will swivel at the top of the stairs. If you choose the powered swivel option the seat swivel is operated by continuing to hold the toggle or joystick when you arrive at the top of the staircase. The seat will move automatically while the toggle / joystick is activated. Perch Seat If you have restricted movement in the knee or hip joints you may find sitting painful. Or on very tight staircases in some instances a perch seat may be an option. We would assess and advise where appropriate. A Perch seat means that the user is almost in a standing position when they are using the lift. There is a shortened seat (and retractable seat belt) which provides a stable support area for users to ‘perch’ on. Heavy Duty Stairlift The Handicare 1000XXL 200kg / 31½st. The XXL is supplied with additional arm spacers to increase the distance between the arms.

Stairlift guarantee and Maintenance At Jay-Care the after care is as, if not more important than the purchase process. We offer a thorough and efficient engineering service. All our staff are uniformed and all our vehicles liveried in our corporate company colours. Every Jay-Care stairlift is installed to the highest standard and is designed to give you years of trouble free service. To give you complete peace of mind, Jay-Care also covers each model with a comprehensive manufacturerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s warranty.

Our stairlifts have easy to use error codes which can allow simple faults to be rectified much more quickly and sometimes can avoid the need to wait for an engineer.

You may wish to opt for an extended warranty agreement to ensure that your stairlift is covered in the unlikely even of a fault or breakdown occurring once the guarantee has expired. As it is a mechanical unit we recommend that your stairlift is serviced by a Jay-Care approved engineer at least once a year, possibly more if the stairlift is installed in a high user, multi-user location.

Power Chairs Powered wheelchairs tend to be smaller in size than mobility scooters. This makes them ideal to use both indoors and outdoors, the range of Jay-Care powered wheelchairs provide indoor manouevrability and outdoor stability. They function the same way as a manual wheelchair but have the benefit of motors that means you donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have to rely on an attendant to push you or for you to propel yourself.

Our range of high specification powered wheelchairs are bespoke to the user, 8mph versions are available as well as the standard 4mph. Seats can be configured to suit the persons needs especially if there is a need to be sat in the chair for a long period of time. It is also possible for the powered wheelchair to be crash tested enabling the user to travel in it whilst in a vehicle.

They are controlled by a simple joystick that can be fitted to either armrest, seats, armrests and footplates can be fully adjusted for any specific needs making the powered wheelchair as comfortable as possible. Lightweight portable powered wheelchairs are smaller and lighter so that they can be dismantled to go into a car boot for easy transportation. They allow you greater accessibility over a traditional scooter without having to have the upper body strength to propel yourself in a manual wheelchair.
