WASTE ISN'T WASTE UNTIL IT'S WASTED

NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK

ESTABLISHED BY PLANET ARK IN 1996, IS HELD EVERY YEAR DURING THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER (7TH TO 13TH OF NOVEMBER 2022).

This year, National Recycling Week explores the idea that Waste isn't Waste until it's Wasted. We invite you to get involved and join your community in all events on how you use resources by giving them a second life, reducing the need for newly produced products. This year it is all about quality over quantity, it is not about recycling more, but recycling better. Reducing our waste not only keeps valuable materials out of landfill. While recycling is a fantastic way to reduce landfill and reduce greenhouse emissions it only forms part of the bigger recycling picture. As you can see by this chart the best way to recycle is to simply use less stuff, like plastic bags to put your groceries in, or single use items. My favourite, the Reuse and repair, great for hoarders (only kidding) but for those who love to re purpose this is a great option and fun to do. From the Schools Recycle Right Challenge and workplace recycling trivia there is something in National Recycling Week for all Australians.
