MEGAN M. HALL

Megan Hall was born in California in 1995. After her father finished his military service, the family moved back to his hometown of Rupert, Idaho. Growing up in Rupert, Megan was identified as hard of hearing. Unfortunately, due to lack of services in her area, she did not receive needed support which made education a struggle for her.

As an adult, Megan decided to get help. She still remembers the first day she got hearing aids. She states, “I was frozen with my mouth hanging open as I walked out of my audiologist’s office with her; she couldn’t help but laugh at my shocked expression as I listened to a loud, older truck rumbling past us.” Megan moved to Boise in 2018. One year later, she lost the rest of her hearing and was diagnosed with Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). Soon she began learning American Sign Language (ASL). A major setback occurred when Megan’s health required frequent hospitalization, and a medical emergency occurred that required a life-saving tracheotomy. This medical mistake led to much damage and the possibility of long-term rehabilitation. The proudest moment of Megan’s life was when she exceeded everyone’s expectations and walked out of the hospital on her own two weeks later.

Megan soon found financial support to attend CWI. In December 2022, she earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, graduating with honors. After leaving CWI, Megan will continue her education at Idaho State University in the audiology program. Future goals include a doctorate degree in audiology with the hope of pursing research opportunities in the field.

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS (AA) DEGREE

Designed to transfer to a four-year institution, the Associate of Arts degree requires the successful completion of at keast 60 credit hours.

ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE (AS) DEGREE

Designed to transfer to a four-year institution the Associate of Science degree requires the successful completion of at keast 60 credit hours in a course of study with additional emphasis on science.

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (AAS) DEGREE

The Associate of Applied Science degree requires the successful completion of at least 60 credit hours of both General Education and Career and Technical Education coursework.

ADVANCED TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (ATC)

The Advanced Technical Certificate requires the successful completion of at least 52 credit hours of both General Education and Career and Technical Education coursework.

INTERMEDIATE TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (ITC)

The Intermediate Technical Certificate requires the successful completion of at least 30 credit hours of both General Education coursework and Career and Technical Education coursework.

BASIC TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (BTC)

The Basic Technical Certificate requires the successful completion of at least eight (8) credit hours of Career and Technical Education coursework.

ACADEMIC CERTIFICATE (AC)

The Academic Certificate requires the successful completion of at least seven (7) credit hours of coursework.
