years of the URC by investing the future in local communities. Rev Dr Ash Barker, who leads the Newbigin Pioneering Hub from Winson Green, inner city Birmingham, said: “We long for every local community to flourish in God’s love and shalom, but know so many neighbourhoods are missing out right now. I believe this new venture can unearth a new generation of Pioneers, ready to be planted personally in local places and able to grow people into new communities of faith, hope and compassion wherever Jesus has called them to serve. We have hard-won insights from experienced Pioneers that can help form, guide and inspire a new generation of Pioneers from here.” The past two years of COVID-19 has been a time where churches have had to rethink and devise new ways of being church and community, be it pastoral contact by providing food and medicine, or caring for members over the phone or internet.
Prior to the pandemic ending or becoming endemic, CWM Europe’s member churches and ecumenical partners are thinking ahead together on what church and ministry may look like post-COVID. They have shared their brief reflections and insights in a series of eight short videos. These videos feature colleagues from our member churches UWI, PKN, PCW and URC, as well as Cytun (Churches Together in Wales) and Presbyterian Church (USA). Some videos are in Welsh, and Dutch, with English subtitles. Take a look through this link, and be encouraged: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWR0ozHdN6oMOagu3A8ad64kl qfdsl6N2
