1956 Morris Minor Split Screen
The Motor magazine tested a four-door Moggie Saloon in 1952. It reported a top speed of 62mph and acceleration from 0-50mph in a blistering 28.6 seconds (!). The test car cost an-equally staggering £631 including taxes which tempted almost 500,000 new owners to the fore by the time production ended in 1956.

@silverstoneauc
Boasting a lovely history file this handsome Moggie is reported to drive wonderfully, stop sharply and even claims working semaphores - though indicators have also been fitted. This Moggie was fitted with a factory reconditioned 948cc engine upgrade in 1974. In the past handful of weeks the car has received new plugs, hoses and brake pads making it absolutely ready for its next adventure. As if this wasn’t enough, ‘OHR 860’ even comes with the essential motoring requirement for any well prepared 1950’s family man of an... Emergency Windscreen, we jest not!

Originally hailing from Bologna, Italy, and celebrating its centenary year in 2014, Maserati has always been synonymous with producing luxury sports and performance cars with Italian styling flair. Meaning ‘four doors’ in Italian, the Maserati Quattroporte, is a luxury saloon car of which there have been six generations, the first one being launched in 1963. This particular car is a fifth generation example of the Quattroporte penned by the famous Italian design house Pininfarina. Making its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 9th September 2003, the Quattroporte boasted an impressive 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 171mph continuing the Maserati tradition of producing luxury performance cars.

The current owner has informed us that he’s only used the car in good weather which is testament to the exterior condition of the car, and he also states that four new Pirelli P-Zero tyres have recently been fitted. Presented in excellent overall condition and with the odometer showing 50,013 miles, this Quattroporte represents an opportunity to own one of Maserati’s finest sports tourers.

1951 GMC Pick-Up Registration: OSJ 337 Chassis Number: B228438809
General Motors had reached their zenith in the Stateside boom of red-blooded cars for blue collar Americans with their launch of the GMC Stepside Pickup truck. General Motors had beaten Dodge, Ford and Studebaker to the market in 1947 with this model.
SilverstoneAuctions
@silverstoneauc
Purchased as a promotional vehicle for the vendor’s business on the 13th September 2008, OSJ 337 was used sparingly, and for the past four years has remained correctly stored in his garage. In June of this year the Pick-Up was recommissioned for sale with a bill of £572.42 for a full check over of mechanicals, a new battery, 3ltrs of ATF, topping up of other fluids, two new front tyres, adjustment of belts, greasing of steering and prop joints and a thorough road test. Although in near Concours condition there are a few stone chips to the front and the rear hardwood bed which would benefit from re-varnishing to be shown in its greatest light. The odometer shows a reading of 5,042, and we suspect it has “gone round the clock”, as the information we have from the vendor shows that the truck hasn’t covered more than 12,000 since the 1998 restoration. MOT and tax exempt, OSJ 337 offers the enthusiast an example of 1950s hot rod perfection without the prohibitive restoration costs. Currently on SORN the vehicle has a number of descriptive bills and an in-depth history file dating from its 1998 restoration, plus the full V5 and V5C.

THE AUTUMN SALE
This show winning hot-rodders delight was first registered in the UK on 5th August 1998 following its ground up restoration by the renowned Roy Pitter of Hot Rods & Choppers, Hampshire. Each nut and bolt was substituted with stainless steel replacements, tinted windows fitted and the professional respray finishing it off. The 283 small block Chevy engine has Holley 600 cam four-barrel carburettors, complementing the smooth 350 GMC automatic transmission. Upgraded to Camaro front suspension with 10 bolt GM rear axle, with Camaro power steering, the wheels are the sought after chrome “Smoothies”. Upon completion, OSJ 337 was featured in Hot Rod magazine. The current vendor purchased OSJ 337 in 2008 from enthusiast Andrew Geekie, who himself had covered a mere 10,000 miles in ten years.

1999 Bentley Arnage Green Label Registration: T237 UCF Chassis Number: SCBLB51EXXCH02985 Engine Number: 50441992 Estimate (£): 21,000 - 24,000
The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998, a large luxury saloon car that replaced the previous Bentley Turbo saloon. Built by Bentley Motors in Crewe, from 1998 to 2009, the Arnage and its Rolls-Royce sibling named the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. The new Arnage was to be powered by a BMW V8 engine with Cosworth-engineered twin-turbo chargers and was designated the ‘Arnage Green Label’ and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12 engine. The ‘Arnage Red Label’ was launched in October 1999 and the engine reverted back to Bentley power using the traditional V8 engine with a displacement of 6750cc. With a modest 39600 on its odometer this Bentley Arnage gives an impression of unmolested integrity. We are told by the vendor that this particular car drives perfectly. Under load the engine retains its smoothness, pulling strongly and silently through almost invisible gear changes. Even under spirited driving this car maintains its composure, while the brakes are reported to operate with superb urgency. All warning lights go out immediately
w ww.silvers to neauctio ns. co m
from start and the super smooth V8 soon settles to an almost whisper like idle. Casting your eyes down the flanks of this beautiful luxury saloon and you’re presented with straight, well fitting panels, superb shut lines and a reassuring thunk that one only gets on a vehicle such as this. The famous front grill is superbly presented and is matched by the sharp looking bright work that really gives this cars its substantial presence. The interior is reported to be in first class condition throughout, all veneer wood is beautifully crafted and finished and is matched by acres of beautiful magnolia leather that shows little sign of wear, the rear seating looking as if they have barely been used over the years. Likewise the carpets have survived well, all dials spring to life at the turn of a button. Land the right Arnage in the current market place and your touching greatness, just don’t leave it too long because we suspect the world will may soon wake up and notice how undervalued and rare these cars currently are.

going back to the early 90s. The air-cooled flat six is oil tight, very compliant and the soundtrack is addictive. The 915 type gearbox works perfectly, the steering is precise, indeed the whole driving experience is that of a very well sorted 911. Importantly we are informed the heat exchangers work perfectly. Inside it is very clean with very little wear, a testament to just how well these cars were built. The Porsche Parisian Blue paintwork is in great order and gleams beautifully, the paintwork and panels look to be in good order throughout. The vendor informs us that the car is in excellent order throughout and raising or lowering the roof is a very simple affair. Sold with private number plate, MOT until June 2015 and taxed until November of this year this car is a joy to drive, with the air of one that’s been very well looked after over the years.

THE AUTUMN SALE
Developed under the watchful eye of Porsche Chief Executive Peter Schutz, the 911 Carrera 3.2 made its debut at the September 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show. Visually indebted to the outgoing 911 SC, the newcomer wore a revised front valance complete with auxiliary driving lamps and a subtle ‘Carrera’ script on its engine lid. Available in Coupé, targa and cabriolet guises, it remained faithful to established 911 practice by employing allround independent torsion-bar suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. Estimated to be eighty-percent new, the model’s 3164cc (hence ‘3.2’) flat-six engine was credited with developing 231bhp and 209lbft of torque. Allied to five-speed transmission, it proved both rev-happy and flexible. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and 153mph.

Often heralded as the most beautiful car of all time Jaguar, not surprisingly, made no significant changes till the introduction of the 4.2 engine in October 1964. Additionally they incorporated an all syncromesh gearbox, increased legroom and better torque from the new capacity engine. This resulted in the best driving E-type and now Grand Tourer to match the best being produced by its rivals. The E-type still continued to hammer the opposition on pricing. An original Heritage Certificate shows this left-hand drive Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupé was manufactured on 5th April 1966 and originally registered in Coventry, UK to a Mr A. Roberts under the personal export scheme. Originally finished in cream with a red leather interior, it was supplied by Henley’s London and spent the majority of its life in the USA. It was restored in 2012 and returned to the UK 2013 and re registered as HOV 115D.
presented in lovely order, with good shut lines and a consistent paint throughout. The interior looks superb in red and the engine bay is very clean and presentable. Mechanically the engine boasts good oil pressure and pulls well. It has recently had a full check over and comes with an MoT until Nov 2014. A fine example, it is supplied with a number of invoices relating to the restoration work and a UK V5C logbook. The Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupé is seen by many as the most desirable E-Type to own and use, with the reliable 4.2 powerplant and purest of body lines. This example is an ideal first classic for the discerning enthusiast.
This fully matching number car is now finished in white with red interior, having had a complete body re-spray and new red leather interior fitted. The bodywork is

1986 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Replica
This 1986 911 3.2 litre Carrera was converted to RS style in approximately 2005 by its fastidious last keeper. The front wings and bonnet are steel, with fibre glass front and rear bumpers and rear ‘duck tail‘ spoiler, similar to an original 2.7 Carrera of 1973. The car’s interior has been partially stripped, the door cards replaced with light weight panels, the rear seats removed and a strengthening bar fitted in the front and rear of the car. The seats are period style buckets and set off the interior perfectly, hugging the driver and passenger to perfection. In all this work was carried out most diligently as the end end result is a credible early looking car, which was also repainted at this time. The finish of the paintwork SilverstoneAuctions

remains good but there is some micro blistering on the wings and boot lid. The engine is the standard 3.2 litre 231bhp unit but with the addition of a electronically driven supercharger. Often used in race cars these small and light weight units can boost the intake manifold pressure by up to 2psi giving aprox 15hp across the power range, the result doesn’t sound much but it is particularly noticeable during mid range acceleration. This car boasts a huge history file, the six previous owners sparing no expense on maintaining the car, mostly at Porsche main dealers and some well known specialists. The car has a copy of the factory service recored stamped until 2009, but there are many other invoices following that, the last being in September 2013 for service work totaling £1,157.14. The mileage is showing 121,500 miles, which is backed up by twenty three old MoT certificates that go right back to its first MoT in 1989. In all this is very presentable classic Porsche with RS styling, the handling set up is excellent and the added performance makes it a real joy to drive. It is also supplied the original 911 handbook, UK V5C log book and Mot until September 2015.

THE AUTUMN SALE
The 1970s represented a truly ‘rich vein’ of Motorsport success for Porsche, regulation changes to ‘level the playing field’ only tested their resolve and ingenuity. The Porsche 917 was rendered obsolete by late 1972 with rule changes to the World Sportscar Championship now geared for prototypes. Without sufficient time to respond to complete a build program, Porsche switched their attention to the European GT Championship, developing still further the successfull 2.7 RS.

Prior to the 4/4, Morgans had been three-wheelers, only, typically with V-twin engines. Apart from a break during World War II the 4/4 has been in continuous production from its debut right up to the present day. Engine capacity has increased from the 1,122 cc Coventry Climax engine in 1936 to a 1.8-litre Ford engine in 2004, although it is currently back down to 1,595 cc.

The Porsche Outlaw movement is said to have began in the 1980s by Gary Emory who set about creating ‘one off’ personalised Porsches - mainly 356 models that were built to enjoy and drive as Porsche intended but with an individual twist and performance upgrades. Outlaws are not for the purists or the concours kings who spend many a day polishing and picking grass blades out of the tyre tread. Built by the enthusiasts who like to stand out from the crowd, the Outlaw can often be spotted by its tatty appearance, lowered suspension and wider tyres. Look deeper inside and chances are you will find an uprated engine and other more subtle often race-inspired modifications. Having been over-looked or dismissed over the years, it is only recently that Outlaws have gained a loyal following and respect within the classic car world; aided by the likes of Singer Vehicle Design developing possibly the most beautiful 911s ever created and Magnus Walker, who took both the Porsche and custom car world by storm with his interpretations of the 911 and 912. Even Porsche themselves now recognise the importance of the Outlaw theme. The manufacturer have appointed Magnus Walker to become a global ambassador for their brand and have incorporated special Outlaw classes at some Porsche concours events.

This 1968 Porsche 912 Outlaw began its life in the USA as a standard Porsche 912 that at some point during its life the engine was replaced with a 911T unit. The car later became unloved and was put into storage in USA until acquired by our vendor. Our vendor was on the hunt for a good basis to create an Outlaw Porsche to build to his own specification and stumbled upon this car already fitted with a larger 911T engine and with its tatty appearance it was perfect. The car was imported in to the UK and work started. The brakes were refurbished and the suspension checked and refreshed where needed and lowered to give it the all-important Outlaw stance. Wider ‘cookie cutter’ wheels where sourced, refurbished and fitted to the car. A new fuel tank was fitted and the engine was also checked and given a full service. Unfortunately, a change of plan has meant that the vendor is not able to realise his dream of creating an Outlaw 911 built to his specification, hence it is now offered for sale here. This car offers the purchaser the perfect basis to continue the Outlaw build to his or her own specification, or, alternatively, presents a project to return the car to standard specification, especially given the current value of Porsche 912s. importance of this car cannot be understated in the history of the Lynx Eventer. Copies of the original brochure and much in the way of magazine articles which, over the years, the Lynx featured in are included in the extensive paperwork that comes with this car giving the new owner not only the first Lynx to be sold but a concise and complete history of the Lynx Eventer model as well.
What was amazing at the time was how competent the Eventer was to drive. The rearward shift in weight distribution required stiffer rear suspension but the XJS accepted this modification gracefully. The Eventer actually weighed less than the standard XJS - so acceleration was sharper. Here was a small home-grown engineering company with the vision and the skills to create a car, under licence by Jaguar that drove like the product of a multi-million pound R&D programme, matched by a level of finish and detail to rival the best.
This Lynx Eventer is offered for sale as a project and after 15 years in storage is in need of restoration, it’s currently a non-runner with no MOT and has travelled 116,840 miles. Prior to storage the vendor informs us it benefitted from much in the way of mechanical work as described by various documentary and photographic evidence and previous parts fitted, all work done have been Jaguar badged parts at Jaguar approved Dealerships. Aston Martin’s customers had been clamouring for an eight-cylinder car for years, so Aston Martin designed a larger two-door saloon for V8 applications. The engine was not ready, however, so in 1967 the company released the DBS with the straight-six Vantage engine from the DB6. Two years later, Tadek Marek’s V8 was ready, and Aston released the DBS V8. With the demise of the straight-six Vantage in 1973, the DBS V8, now restyled and called simply the Aston Martin V8, became the company’s mainstream car for nearly two decades. It was retired in favour of the Virage in 1989. Offered here in true ‘barn-find condition’ is one of the last Series III cars to be produced and first registered 27th September 1978 to Mr Ivor Cohen.

Lot 223
The Austin-Healey Sprite is a small, open sports car which was announced to the press in Monte Carlo on 20th May, 1958, just before the Monaco Grand Prix. It was intended to be a low-cost model that ‘a chap could keep in his bike shed’, yet be the successor to the sporting versions of the pre-war Austin Seven. The Sprite was designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, which received a royalty payment from the manufacturers, BMC. It first went on sale at a price of £669, using a mildly tuned version of the Austin A-Series engine and it shared many other components from existing cars to keep costs down. The little Sprite quickly became affectionately known as the ‘Frogeye’ in the UK and the ‘Bugeye’ in the US, because its headlights were prominently mounted on top of the bonnet, inboard of the front wings. Originally the designers had intended that the headlights could be retracted, with the lenses facing skyward when not in use; but cost-cutting by BMC led to the flip-up mechanism being deleted. The front sheet-metal assembly, including the bonnet and wings, was a one-piece unit, hinged from the back that swung up to allow access to the engine compartment. The rear axle was both located and sprung by quarter-elliptic leaf springs, again with lever-arm

Classics rarely come more surefire than Triumph’s TR range; always in vogue, they guarantee you low running costs and plenty of fun. While the earlier side-screen TRs are relatively impractical, the initial ‘full-width’ editions are eminently usable and affordable too. Even better, the cars are tough as old boots, while specialists and clubs proliferate. Even though the TR4 was really just a reskinned TR3, the later car is a more usable classic that’s long-legged, practical and easy to upgrade, whether it’s for historic racing, the occasional B-road blast or something altogether more ambitious that involves crossing continents. 1968 MGC GT Registration: RWD 628G Chassis Number: GCD1321 Engine Number: 29GH117 Estimate (£): 16,000 - 18,000
The MGC was a 2912cc, straight-6 version of the MGB sold from 1967 and produced through to August 1969. In the twin SU carburettor form used in the MGC, the engine produced 145bhp at 5250rpm. Like the MGB, it was available as a coupé and roadster. An overdrive gearbox or three-speed automatic gearbox were available as options. The car was capable of 120 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 10.0 seconds. Finished in Mineral Blue with contrasting leather interior this has to be one of the rarest MGC-GTs in existence today, the fact that it’s a ‘C’ is rare enough, this particular car has an automatic gearbox. Purists may derise this car completely but for those who live a more sedate way of life but maybe contemplating life with a bigger classic car just because of its auto box, then this could be the car for you. We are informed by the vendor of this beautiful car that this particular car has been the subject of a quality restoration within the last 12 months and as such RWD 628G is reported to drive beautifully with taut and crisp handling. The engine has a turbine like smoothness compared to that of its 1800 sibling, hit this engines

sweet spot with your right foot and the car really will pull away with ease, being an automatic the whole driving experience is more relaxed. We are informed the steering is a tad heavy but there’s the large original steering that aids deft progress. The combination of discs at the front and drums at the rear offer adequate retardation. Predictably, after such a recent overhaul the bodywork is immaculate, various new panels were fitted to the car before being repainted. The underside shows no cause for concern whatsoever, the car has been painted to a very high standard and panel fit is reported to be excellent all round. Likewise all chrome work is in superb condition The vendor informs us that there was actually very little to do internally to bring the car up to scratch, the whole interior has a lovely patina that merely adds to the occasion everytime you step inside this charismatic car. Sold with a fresh MOT and showing a current mileage of 35600 this is one of the best and most desirable MGCGTs currently around. Coupled with perfect paint and lack of corrosion, this makes a fantastic buy.

In 1963 Mercedes-Benz introduced the 230/250/280 SL Pagoda as the successor to the famous 300/190 SL Series. Designed by Paul Bracq who was appointed Head of Advanced Design at Mercedes in 1957 when he was only 24 years old. The 280SL is considered the most desirable of this series. It has a 2778cc 6-cylinder fuelinjected engine developing 170 horsepower at 5750 RPM with a top speed of 120 mph. Available as an automatic or manual, these cars were icons of the 1960’s and were owned by the likes of John Lennon and Audrey Hepburn. We are informed by the vendor that the driving experience is surprisingly modern, with a smooth automatic gearbox, the six cylinder engine responds well and emits a glorious bark under acceleration. At other times it is impressively quiet, brakes are reported to be good and that the ride is superbly comfortable at all speeds. The bodywork of this particular Pagoda is reported to be in excellent order throughout, the original welds can still be seen to the rear arches, all panels are straight and fit with even gaps all round, the white paintwork still holds its shine well. Brightwork is superbly presented both front

The seats are said to offer good support, are comfortable and show little signs of wear despite this cars age, the large steering wheel with chrome horn ring is an absolute joy. The fuel injected engine is reported to fire up perfectly from cold and soon settles to an even tickover, on the move the car drives beautifully and all gauges report all is well at all times. For most enthusiasts the 280SL is the one to have, its brisk rather than seriously quick, this car is more about style and comfort than sporty pretension. The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 was introduced in 1976 as the successor to the rather larger 365 GT 2+2. With its much sleeker looks the Ferrari 365, also designed by Pininfarina, remained in production with very few styling changes until 1989. It had proved to be a great success for the company. The 412 was introduced in 1985 and this was technically a much improved and modernised version of the classic design, whilst still retaining a timeless and most elegant shape. With a displacement of nearly 5 litres, the V12 engine now produced a healthy 340 hp and ABS was available for the first time in a Ferrari. The Ferrari 412i is the ultimate version of the 400-series four-seat Grand Touring cars and remains highly respected for its performance, luxury and ease of operation. Well presented in its original combination of Agrento Metallic Silver with Navy Blue leather, this example was built in 1988 and is one of only 306 right hand drive models produced. ‘F328 0YP’ was first delivered to a Mrs D.L. The MGA was a sports car produced by the MG division of The British Motor Corporation from 1955 to 1962. It replaced the older “T-type” cars and represented a complete styling break from the older vehicles. The ‘A’ was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955. Only 5,869 cars were sold on the home market, giving the MGA the highest export percentage of any British car. It was replaced by the MGB in May 1962.

The handling was excellent with independent suspension, coil spring/wishbones at the front and de Dion tube at the rear with Watt’s linkage and twin radius arms. All this combined to create a perfect platform for Tadek Marek’s all-alloy V8. It boasted four overhead camshafts and Bosch electronic fuel injection. New door panels have also been made and with Wilton carpet and Connolly tan leather trim as per original specification. A new full original Aston Martin specification headlining has also been fitted.

The ‘L’ or Lusso penultimate model, like the car offered here today, was produced between 1968 and 1972 and featured a much modernised interior including a renewed dashboard and greater comfort and style were provided in this new model for a new generation.

In 1961, Citroën began work on ‘Project S’ - a sports variant of the revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, many running concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex and upmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati’s high-performance engine technology to produce a true Gran Turismo car, combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension with a Maserati V6. The Citroën SM, was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970. It finally went on sale in France in September of that year. All produced were left-handdrive. The SM was Citroën’s flagship vehicle, competing with other high-performance GTs of the time. It was also Citroën’s way of demonstrating just how much power and performance could be accommodated in a front-wheel drive design.

The Alfa Romeo 105/115 series Coupés were built from 1963 until 1977. They were the successors to the celebrated Giulietta Sprint coupé and used the shortened floor-pan from the Giulia saloon car. The basic body shape, shared by all models, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone. It was one of his first major projects for Bertone and is often regarded as one of his finest commercial projects. It borrowed heavily from his earlier design for the Alfa Romeo 2000 Sprint/2600 Sprint. The balance of glass and metal, the influence of the shape of the front and rear glass on the shape of the cabin and the flat grille with incorporated headlamps were all considered ground-breaking styling features for the era.

1992 Lancia Delta Intergrale Evolution I Registration: TBA Chassis Number: ZLA831AB000576331 Engine Number: 831E5 Estimate (£): 18,000 - 22,000
The Lancia Delta was first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979. The Delta Integrale is best known for its domination of The World Rally Championship in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first ‘Evoluzione’ cars were built at the end of 1991 and carried on through 1992. These were to be the final homologation cars built for the Lancia Rally Team, which raced under the Martini Racing banner. The Evoluzione II was never actually rallied by the factory themselves. In order to improve the handling, the Evoluzione had a wider track front and rear than earlier Deltas. So in order to fit this revised track into the bodywork, the already wide wheel arches were extended even further and in the process also became more rounded. The new Integrale retained the four-wheel drive layout. It had an epicyclic centre diff with torque splitter, plus a Ferguson designed viscous coupling and Torsen rear differential. The engine, although technically the same as the earlier 16V cars, was remapped to give 210bhp at 5750rpm,this was in order to compensate for the slight increase in weight and increased frontal area. These improvements were aimed at improving the handling potential of the car and it

worked, with the new Integrale being able to travel faster over rally stages on both asphalt and gravel. This particular Lancia Delta is an Evoluzione I model that was imported in to the UK by our vendor in 1995. The car was first delivered to ItalianAuto Concessionaria, Italy in 1992. Since import it has been meticulously maintained by our vendor and in regular use, which can be seen by the extensive MoT history from September 1995 that documents the cars current mileage of 93,398km. The car is presented with a superb history file, which includes the original service and owners handbooks. The history file also includes a wealth of invoices the most recent being from Walkers Garages for service work undertaken in February 2014 at a cost of over £2000. The Lancia Delta is one of the most iconic cars from the 80’s era and sure to be a good investment for many years to come. *Please note this vehicle is subject to a registration plate transfer at time of sale.

The Mercedes 280SL ‘Pagoda’ was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production through until February 1971. Over the years, the W113 evolved from a ‘sports car’ into a comfortable ‘grand tourer’. The obvious change from its predecessor was the upgrade to the 2778cc M130 engine, which purists will tell you finally gave the Pagoda adequate power. Now suitably refined, the car proved popular in the US market, however, we’ve seen a significant increase in demand here in the UK not least due to the 190SL rising beyond the budgets of many.

The R107 built between 1972 - 1989 became the third generation of the popular SL range manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. During its seventeen year period of production the R107 was powered by eight different engines and four different transmissions. When new, these cars were advertised as having 240bhp which propelled the car to a top speed of 140 mph via the 4 speed automatic transmission. The 5 litre V8 engine was more powerful and more economical than the model it replaced adding to its desirability.
An export certificate stamped in 1994 shows that the car travelled across the Irish Sea to reside in Ireland and Northern Ireland for the next chapter of its life, with many subsequent Irish MOT certificates included in the history file. Offered with a current V5C and MOT until January 2015 “SVR 385W” is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
This example, finished in Red with tan half leather / cloth interior, comes with a history file showing that the car had minor body repairs totalling £2,300 in 1989 having dents and rust attended to and also a fresh coat of paint. A year later, the car had a new transmission, with invoices to testify to this work being undertaken.

The car appears to be in very much untouched condition other then appearing to have been subject to a respray many years ago. Presented with a current MoT a UK NOVA has been completed and registration has been applied for.
Think of the BMW 2002 Turbo as the M3 for the 1970s, and you’re not a million miles away. It was a pocket-sized saloon with true sportscar performance there were few other saloons in the world that could keep up. Only 1,672 were built, making them rare and desirable today.
At last the 2002 Turbo is being considered properly by the serious car collector and people now realise how important this car is, not just to BMW Motorsport but also to automotive history. With only 1,672 examples ever produced and being the first European Turbocharged road car, they are now getting the respect they deserve from the true enthusiast.
It is understood that the example offered here was first delivered new to Italy where it spent much of its life until discovered by our vendor in 2014. The car has spent a very sheltered life having been offered in part exchange against a boat some 20+ years ago and soon after founding its way in to long-term dry storage whilst in the ownership of the boat broker. Our vendor then discovered the vehicle and added it to his personal collection; a change of plans has meant the car is now offered here today.

The W 124 Cabriolet was a relatively late addition to the E class range, being launched in 1991, initially in 300CE-24 form. A little more than a year later, the models were realigned as part of the minor facelift to become the E-Class, becoming the E320 and E220 in 1993. The cabriolet was virtually as roomy in the back and with the hood up almost as quiet. Occupant safety was courtesy of a variation of the R129 SL system, the rear tombstone headrests raising themselves to serve as a rollover protection. It was the most expensive model in the four-seat open-top class, with the Saab 900 and Audi Cabriolet gaining more sales on the back of their lower prices - but today, this is reflected in much higher values for the Mercedes-Benz.

The potential of the 911 Coupe in motorsport was soon realised by Porsche and enthusiasts alike. The ST package of tuning modifications was designed to satisfy that need by Porsche. Only 49 factory 911 ST’s were assembled ‘in house’ and many privateers purchased the standard 911S 2.2 and fitted the tuning parts. The exponent of this in 1970 was Erwin Kremer who took his 911ST to a seventh overall finish at Le Mans that year. Further successes were achieved at Daytona, Sebring and the Targa Florio. It also flourished as the car to beat in rallying. The ST was really the catalyst for every Porsche 911 motorsport derivative that was to follow for the next 40 years.
The work to create this ST included the fitting of lightweight GRP wings, engine cover and bumpers. All the suspension parts were either replaced with genuine Porsche parts or checked and re-galvanised. Featuring Bilstein dampers and 29mm/23mm roll bars with further softer spares. The car comes with two sets of 8x15 and 9x15 wheels refurbished by Porsche’s own supplier and is complete with all the required safety items such as full race harness, structural roll cage and fire system.
With 240bhp on tap and weighing only 906 kilos, this is a very competitive package and potential winner in it’s historic class in a variety of current different European historic series.

In 1954 it was decided at Steyr-Puch to resume car production post war. Southern Ireland. The car is believed to have received a sympathetic restoration some years ago while in storage and is still in very good condition throughout. Just 64,733 miles are showing. A lovely nod to the cars origins are a picture of a lady complete with mini-skirt which sits inside the key ring of the original key. After storage of some 28 years this wonderful little car has been brought back to the road this year, with a fresh interior trim, new tyres and very few other minor mechanical touches. It is a suicide door early model. Supplied with a MOT until August 2015, the vendor informs us that it has been serviced and is in good running order. This stunningly unique 500 is an intricate piece of the Steyr/Fiat family, this surely is an opportunity for both Steyr and Fiat collector’s internationally. The registration number ‘AEM 655’ is shown for illustration purposes only. This car is currently undergoing a registration reassignment after its 28 years of storage abroad. The vendor informs us that he hopes the original number will be reassigned. Please contact us close to the auction to confirm the registration number. SilverstoneAuctions

Unfortunately for the then owner, his business hit hard times and the restoration went on hold. Time passed, and eventually it became apparent that he would not be able to continue. The car passed to the garage that had begun the work, Alfa Man of Park Royal, London. Here it remained for a close to 12 years before being acquired by our vendor in October of 2013. Upon new ownership the restoration restarted in gusto with a more than 500 hour rebuild being embarked. The work that had been completed had been done to a good standard, but 12 years of standing meant many aspects had to be re-addressed. The body was stripped to bare metal, painted to a very high standard and the whole car SilverstoneAuctions

reassembled with all-new interior. With the engine and gearbox rebuilt just 3,000 miles ago a complementing electronic ignition was fitted for ease of use and the car returned to the road a handful of months ago. Now fully tested and behaving itself as you would expect from one of Alfa Romeo’s greatest success stories, this charming Alfa in exemplary order is now ready for the road looking resplendent with GTA type replica wheels and the correct badging to complete the styling. The Alfa GTV - and particularly the 2.0litre variants - offer the classic car enthusiast a great ‘all-round’ ownership experience. Relatively simple to fettle and maintain and comfortable for long-distance touring or local journeys alike, the Alfa GTV is a cracker of a car with the webasto roof option offering a window to the sky as you enjoy the spirited driving on offer!...

THE AUTUMN SALE
The car we are pleased to offer for sale here today is a former South African car sourced and shipped to the UK in 1995. It found a privateer owner in 1999 who was prepared to invest more than £13,000 toward the restoration of this vehicle in the first three years of his ownership. This included the professional engine and gearbox rebuild in 2000 which has travelled just 3000 miles since.

Lot 261
1962 Austin Healey Sprite Mk II Registration: 263 YUW Chassis Number: HAN6L6256 Engine Number: H.7678 Estimate (£): 8,000 - 10,000
First introduced at Monte Carlo by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) on the 20th May 1958 as a low-cost model, the Sprite was designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, who received a royalty payment from the manufacturers BMC. The low cost of £669 was achieved by using a mildly tuned version of the ‘A’ Series engine and as many other components from existing cars as possible. Manufactured at the MG sports car factory at Abingdon, it was not surprising the success of the design would lead to an MG version which was known as the Midget. The vendor has informed us that this particular 1962 LHD Austin Healey Sprite was the subject of a major restoration stateside before being imported to the UK by the current vendor. The vendor informs us that the engine is a 948cc BMC A series unit with some modifications including flat top pistons, a 1098 cc cylinder head and a new clutch and pressure plate, the cars current mileage is just under 85000 miles. The Iris Blue paintwork has been expertly applied and as such there is no evidence of runs or overspray, it is

very likely that this car still has its original panels prior to restoration such is the quality of the finish. All chrome work is reported to be in excellent condition throughout. The dashboard retains its original covering and looks great for it, the tiny seats are actually more comfortable than they look although they may appear somewhat upright. We are told the usefully modified twin carb engine is superbly detailed and starts on the button with no knocks or rattles or leaks to cause any concern whatsoever. The gearbox is reported to be in excellent working condition as are the clutch and braking system. The suspension has clearly been set up with performance in mind and as such inspires confidence when driven enthusiastically. The vendor believes that this is a very well sorted car that has clearly benefited from living in the States for many years as much of the metalwork appears to be original and is all the better for it. Sold with a fresh MOT this is a cracking little car with bags of fun and charm in equal measures that is just crying out for its next new owner.

After the first Jaguar E-Type sports cars arrived late in 1961 with inline six-cylinder power, the design progressively matured through 1971 with smooth V12 power. Known as Series III cars, they also featured a larger bonnet bulge, larger wheel openings, a slightly wider track, a revised grille and updated bumpers. The convertible now rode on the longer 105-inch wheelbase. As a result, the doors and sills were longer, and the length and depth of the floor pan increased. A large horizontal scoop was added to the underside of the bonnet to assist in cooling. The interior was entirely new in the V12, including the seats and door panels. The centre console was now vacuum-formed with a simulated leather finish and a smaller, dished and leather-rimmed steering wheel was fitted. Larger, and softer in nature, with weight distributed 53/47, the Series III had lost the wildness of its youth but gained the long legged touring profile to which it was arguably better suited.
its infrequent use. For the entirety of its life in the United States, the car had been lovingly stored in a heated garage. The car is equipped with air conditioning, power steering and automatic transmission, which can only have made driving the open roads of California a sheer delight. We are informed by the vendor that the car drives well, the engine bay is very clean and the paint is in excellent condition. He also comments that the beige leather interior is in first class order. With a believed genuine 58,381 miles from new and a fresh MOT, this beautiful example has had all import duties paid making this lovely roadster ready for registration anywhere in Europe. Buyers should be aware that these are library images and new images will be supplied very shortly.
This highly original Primrose Yellow Series III Roadster has been in the same family since new in 1973. Having spent most of its life in the warm climes of the ‘The Golden State’ of California, the body shows no signs of rust and the soft top remains unmarked, testament to

In the past 12 months the car has undergone a very comprehensive mechanical overhaul, dividing the works between 2 local Northamptonshire specialists Middle Barton Garage & Elite Motor Tune Ltd. The new replacement parts list is extensive and included a complete suspension strip and rebuild along with front & rear brake brake calliper overhaul. The engine has similarly seen much expenditure with the cambelt and tension arm replaced along with new oil seals, distributor cap, HT Leads and ignition coil. The cooling system was overhauled at the same time with the fitment of a new water pump. The gearbox and drivetrain benefits from new gearbox and differential seals, propshaft carrier, U-joint and bearing. In the May 2013, JBY563J was featured in Classic and Sports Car’s ‘Summer Fun’ piece. Alastair Clements said of the car: “it’s very presentable in its attractive shade of green, and appears solid, particularly around the complex-to-fix rear arches....Crucially, it also drives really sweetly…” This attractive little car has been compared to a miniFerrari and offers superb Italian flair on a budget. With the recent expenditure that this car has had it is sure to provide many miles of enjoyment.

THE AUTUMN SALE
The 124 Sport Spider was marketed by Fiat between 1966 and 1980 having debuted at the November 1966 Turin Motor Show. Designed and manufactured by Italian carrozzeria Pininfarina, more specifically by Sergio Pininfarina. Sergio used the already available designs of the Chevrolet Corvette ‘Rondine’ and Ferrari 275 GTS. The four-cylinder engine was designed by Dan Varo and used in the Spider and Coupé was a double overhead cam, aluminium cross-flow head version of the sedan’s pushrod unit. It started in 1966 with a capacity of 1438cc, progressively increasing to 1608cc in 1970, 1756cc in 1974 and finally 1995cc in 1979. The double overhead cam version was the first mass manufactured DOHC to utilise reinforced rubber timing belts, an innovation that would come into nearly universal use in the decades after its introduction. Uprated versions powered race cars such as the Fiat 131 Mirafiori, Special T, Lancia Beta Montecarlo, Delta Integrale and many others. This charming little Fiat 124 Spider was imported from Kansas USA, first registered in the UK in September 2011 it spent 40 years in a very dry rust free climate which explains the remarkable condition the car is presented in today. Marque specialists DTR have inspected this car and said that it is one of the best preserved body-shells they have seen.

not show the true condition and colour, (which may be inaccurately reproduced) of the Lot. 5.3 Lots are available for inspection prior to the Sale and it is for any potential bidder to satisfy themselves as to each and every aspect of a Lot, including its authorship, condition, provenance, history, background, authenticity, style, period, age, suitability, quality, roadworthiness (if relevant), origin, value and estimated selling price (including the Hammer Price). 5.4 Each Lot is sold by its respective Seller to the Buyer. Lots are sold to the Buyer on an “as is” basis, with all faults and imperfections. 5.5 The actual condition of a Lot may not be as good as that appears by its outward appearance. In particular, parts may have replaced or renewed and Lots may not be authentic or of satisfactory quality; the inside of a Lot may not be visible and may not be original or may be damaged, as for example where it is covered by upholstery or material. Given the age of many Lots they may have been damaged and/or repaired and you should not assume that a Lot is in good condition. 5.6 Any person who physically interferes with, scratches or damages the Lot in any way (at, before or after the Auction) will be held liable for the loss so caused. 5.7 The Seller is responsible for delivering the Lot in a presentable and saleable condition. If additional cleaning is required it will be charged for by SAL to the Seller as an Expense. 5.8 If a Lot is not sold at Auction, SAL will for the next 14 days be entitled exclusively to negotiate a sale of the Lot on terms agreed with the Seller and as Seller’s agent, and if successful will be entitled to charge the Seller’s Commission and Expenses. 5.9.1 The Seller gives SAL the full and absolute right to photograph and illustrate any Lot placed in its hand for sale, and to use such photographs and illustrations as are provided by the Seller at any time at its absolute discretion (whether or not in connection with the Auction), with indemnity against copyright infringement. 5.9.2 The copyright in all written matter and illustrations relating to Lots shall remain at all times the absolute property of SAL, and any person wishing to use such materials, or any part of them, may only do so with the prior written consent of SAL.

6. Alterations and Estimates 6.1 Estimates and descriptions may be amended at SAL’s discretion from time to time by notice given orally or in writing before or during an Auction. 6.2 The Lot is available for inspection and any potential bidder must form their own opinion in relation to it. You are strongly advised to examine any Lot or have it examined by a specialist or engineer on your behalf before the Auction. 6.3 SAL gives no warranty or representation as to the anticipated or likely selling price of any Lot. Any estimate given, whether written or oral and whether or not printed in any Catalogue, as to the estimated selling price of any Lot is a statement of opinion only and may be subject to revision from time to time at SAL’s sole discretion and should not be relied upon as an indication of the actual selling price. 6.4 SAL shall not be liable to the Seller for any error or misstatement in or omission from the description of any lot in any Catalogue where SAL has: 6.4.1 been provided with such description by the Seller or any person on his behalf; or 6.4.2 provided the Seller with a copy of such description prior to publication of the Catalogue and neither the Seller nor any person on his behalf has notified SAL in writing within 7 days of any error or misstatement in or omission from the description.

6.5 SAL has no duty to the Seller or the Buyer to investigate the accuracy of the description of any Lot provided by or on behalf of the Seller. 7. Warranty by the Seller 7.1 The Seller warrants to the Buyer and to SAL that: 7.1.1 the Seller is the owner of the Lot or is properly authorised to sell the Lot by the owner, and is able to sell the Lot with full title guarantee free from all encumbrances and third party claims and in particular that there is no outstanding finance affecting the Lot; 7.1.2 The description of the Lot in the Catalogue is to the best of the Seller’s knowledge accurate and not misleading. The Seller has notified (or will before the Auction notify) SAL in writing of any material alterations to the Lot of which the Seller is aware and of any concerns expressed by third parties in relation to the authenticity, provenance, origin, age, condition or quality of the Lot and has provided SAL with all such information in the Seller’s possession or control. 7.1.3 If the Lot is a road going Motor Vehicle, it may lawfully be used on the public road and complies with all statutory provisions and that there is in force a test certificate required by law in relation to such use; OR ALTERNATIVELY the Seller has notified SAL in writing that the Motor Vehicle may not lawfully be used on the public road. 7.1.4 The Seller shall compensate SAL and the Buyer in full for all losses, expenses and other costs which are caused by the Seller’s breach of any obligation of the Seller under the Terms. 8. Vehicle Registration Numbers 8.1 If the Seller wishes to sell the Motor Vehicle but to retain the right to the registration number of the Motor Vehicle it is the Seller’s Responsibility to notify SAL in writing. 8.2 It shall be the Seller’s responsibility to take all necessary steps to ensure that the current vehicle registration number is retained and that a new number is allocated prior to the Motor Vehicle being sold at the Auction. 9. Bidding and Reserves 9.1 Admission to the Auction requires the purchase of a Catalogue which must be presented at the entrance to the Auction. SAL do not accept bids from any person who has not completed and submitted a registration form. Proof of identification will be required in the form of a passport or driver’s licence, together with a recent utility bill showing your current address, before the registration process can be completed. 9.2 The Auctioneer will commence and advance the bidding at levels and in increments he considers appropriate and is entitled to place a bid or series of bids on behalf of the Seller, up to the Reserve on the Lot. 9.3 The Seller may place a Reserve on any Lot when he consigns it to the Auction, and once placed it may not be changed without the written consent of SAL. All Lots will be sold without Reserve unless a Reserve has been agreed by SAL in writing. 9.4 Where a Reserve has been agreed, only SAL at its absolute discretion may bid on behalf of the Seller. 9.5 If no Reserve has been placed on a Lot, SAL shall in no way be held liable should the Lot be purchased for a price below any lowest estimated selling price of the Lot given in any Catalogue. 9.6 SAL may sell a Lot below the Reserve agreed with the Seller, provided that SAL accounts to the Seller for the same Sale Proceeds as the Seller would have received had the Lot been sold at that Reserve.
