Directions to Waverley Abbey House
Waverley Abbey House is on the B3001 between Farnham and Milford/Godalming Access from London and the M25 is best via the A3, turning off onto the A31, signposted Farnham/ Winchester/Alton. Stay on the A31, along the Hogs Back, until you reach the large Shepherd and Flock roundabout, and bear left onto the Farnham bypass (A31). Filter left at the first traffic lights to Farnham Station (A287) and Godalming (B3001) and take the left fork immediately after the level crossing. Continue until you see the sign on the left for Waverley Abbey House. The House is on the right just prior to the sharp left bend over the river. Access from the South West is best via the A31 from Winchester, which bypasses Four Marks and Alton taking you onto the Farnham bypass. Follow the signs to Farnham railway station (A287) and Godalming (B3001) but notice there is no right turn at the traffic lights. Continue until you reach the Shepherd and Flock roundabout. Go the whole way round the roundabout until you are back on the A31 going in the other direction, towards the station again. Filter left at the first traffic lights to Farnham Station (A287) and Godalming (B3001) and take the left fork immediately after the level crossing. Continue until you see the sign on the left for Waverley Abbey House. The House is on the right just prior to the sharp left bend over the river.
Access from the Midlands and West is best via Reading (M4) and Basingstoke, where you should join the M3. From Basingstoke head towards London on the M3. Leave at junction 5 (signed to Odiham/Farnham). Stay on this road (A287) until you come to a T-junction in the centre of Farnham. Follow the road round to the left. Turn right at the traffic lights. At the next traffic lights (at the junction with the A31) go straight over. Take the left fork immediately after the level crossing (B3001). Continue on this road until you see the sign on the left for Waverley Abbey House. The House is on the right just prior to the sharp left bend over the river. By rail, Farnham station is approx. one hour from London Waterloo. Take a five-minute taxi from the station. NB It is not advisable to walk from Farnham Station to Waverley as the roads are narrow and without pavements for part of the way. By air (from Heathrow). Take a coach from Heathrow to Woking Railway Station and then a train from Woking to Farnham Station. Tickets for the coach and train can be purchased from the British Rail desk at the airport.
