How to make an all-purpose dip pen reservoir out of a 5 cents copper wire tag Since not all nips come with reservoirs or those provided may be worn out, this is a quick and easy way to make an all-purpose dip pen reservoir and cheap too! Tools & Materials: ¾ Copper wire tag (available in hardware store) ¾ Pliers ¾ Cutting pliers or kitchen scissors ¾ One pen holder © Cynthia Tsang 2009
Steps: 1. cut copper wire tag as shown in diagram © Cynthia Tsang 2009
2. select a pen holder with a narrow end, use a nib to find one that simulate the curve of a nib then position the piece from step 1, and use the pliers to bend down and shape the piece accordingly © Cynthia Tsang 2009
3. test curve precision by inserting into pen holder as it should fit well like a regular nib © Cynthia Tsang 2009
4. use with any nib by inserting reservoir opposite of the nib; push reservoir towards nib and it’s ready for use; the hole in the reservoir allow the easy manipulation of the reservoir and also ease ink flow. © Cynthia Tsang 2009
