Flexibility in Components Consumption - Odoo 13

INTRODUCTION ● Odoo 13 introduce a new feature Consumption in manufacturing. ● The option is made available in Manufacturing BOM. ● The feature enables you to consume many components as your needs. ● And this option will save your time in the creation of new BOM.
â—? Create a BOM from manufacturing module. Goto Manufacturing -> Master Data -> Bill Of Materials
● Create a new BOM by clicking create button. ● And in the Miscellaneous tab you can see the option Consumption.
● There is two options. ○ Flexible : By selecting this option you can consume more components than expected in the BoM. ○ Strict : By selecting this option you can not consume more components than expected in the BoM.
Strict Component Consumption. â—? Goto BOM ,in the Miscellaneous tab select Strict as Consumption type and save the changes.
â—? Create a manufacturing order for the product Table MTO. Goto Operations -> Manufacturing Orders -> Create after click Mark as ToDo.
â—? Check the availability of components and plan the process.
â—? Select the work order.
â—? Process the work order.
â—? You can see the component and its quantity.
â—? Change the quantity and validate it. An error will popup.
â—? In Strict Consumption type you can't change the expected quantity of components. â—? Change the quantity to initial quantity and validate.
Flexible Component Consumption. â—? Goto BOM ,in the Miscellaneous tab select Flexible as Consumption type and save the changes.
â—? Create Manufacturing order and process the order â—? While processing we can see the component name and quantity.
â—? Change the quantity and validate it.
● There is no error will popup because of the Flexible consumption type. ● Click MARK AS DONE for complete the process.
