Language and Culture

Cape York Peninsula is widely recognised as a linguistic treasury. Our many languages are keys to some of the oldest continuous living traditions on the planet.

These languages are now, however, fragile and immediately threatened.

Pama Language Centre works with speech communities to record, revive, revitalise and maintain the fragile First Nations languages of Cape York through innovative and effective language engagement and intergenerational transmission projects.
