Jakarta is one of the fastest sinking cities in the world. It has been predicted that if this issue is left unchecked, the megacity could be entirely submerged by 2050. Penjaringan, one of the city’s sub-district and where several important harbours are located, is experiencing the highest rate of land subsidence in the last 10 years alone. Surrounded by water from below and the edges, residents of Penjaringan experience seasonal floods every year that leads to the destruction of their property.
Hence, this project aims to redevelop Penjaringan coastal community by redefining the relationship between water and the people. With two scenario proposals, the project explores the potential of both present condition and future projection so that the community can survive and will be
