Connections MArch Studio 1A 2019 Prof: Elizabeth McLean This project was about renovating a parking garage into a design school. The design is cost friendly and tackles the heat issues of Arizona. It also acts as a way to bring students together by having open spaces and glass walls on shaded sides of the building. There are stainless steel panels on the South & East facades that act as sun shading panels.

Trans-Cultural Museum Studio 3B 2017 Prof: Yasushi Ishida Partners: Ali-Al Sulaiti & Peter Iskander The main concept of the museum is to bring together the different cultures of the world into one place. Since LA is home to a large number of immigrants, the museum attempts to bring a bit of every culture into one place in order to make citizens who have migrated to the city from different parts of the world feel more at home. 15

This studio was based on creating affordable housing in DownTown Los Angeles. By designing a building that would be affordable and efficient, homelessness might be reduced in that area of LA. The materials used in the design are cast concrete, steel, glass and wood for certain walls. The building has a grey water system in order to reduce wastewater and has 6 unit types in it. It also has an open outdoor space that is shaded by the building in the afternoon. 19

Twisted Bench Object Making 2B 2016 Prof: Matt Corbitt Partner: Ramiro Guerrido This project was about learning how to make everyday objects with certain materials. My partner & I wanted to make a large scale model such as a bench and we added a twist to the design to make it a bit complex. We were interested in learning the advantages and disadvantages of using concrete as a material.
