For me to be chosen, I was surprised and taken aback. I’m just grateful. Advocacy is part of what’s important to me being Superintendent. The issues are essential that are facing our school system. However, in this moment, being a voice in this fight is being shined on at this event. It’s easy to say how something is an honor but its even better when you’re recognized for the honor you’ve given to others.
