Goal Creating a set of promotional materials for a film festival which features films shot by the Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar.
Approach Almodovar was heavily influenced by old Hollywood movies in which the plot revolves around a female main character, who often struggles in tough situations. Struggling females inspired me to photograph feminine objects in harsh environments, which developed into lipstick drawings in the dark corners of the city. Those lipstick drawings eventually evolved into expressive illustrations, which was the final direction I felt strong enough for the project.

I want to demonstrate how important colors are in movies: It's not a caprice.
Pedro Almodóvar Almodóvar is arguably the most successful and internationally known Spanish filmmaker of his generation. His films are marked by complex narratives, employ the codes of melodrama and use elements of pop culture, popular songs, irreverent humor, strong colors and glossy décor. Desire, passion, family and identity are among Almodóvar’s most prevalent themes. He has become a major figure on the stage of world cinema. He says that films are very entertaining. "It's important not to forget that films are made to entertain. That's the key."

Le Palais des Thés started out when FrançoisXavier Delmas, at the head of a group of forty-five tea enthusiasts, decided to create their own business in 1986. One goal: democratize tea and help the Occident to learn more about its cultural and gastronomical aspects. The first shops opens in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
