SPIRIT SESSION SADIE

PETERS-HISTORIAN--

HOOVER DRESS AS A MEME DRESS AS A MEME

About two weeks ago the D03s division held a spirit session at Maple park from around 122pm. The theme was memes so everybody dressed as old or new-ish memes, the reactions were priceless and everybody was laughing when the realization hit of who everybody was. After doing all the transactions with shirts we went to the middle, created and circle and started. We went over the basic cheers such as GOOD JOB, SUPER STAR, and WOLVES HOW DO YOU FEEL. It took us a second to learn those for the new people but it was super fun re hearing those being screamed like last year at Fall Rally 2023, very nostalgic. After a while we started to learn the new cheers that were more complicated and creative and since they were it took a little longer. After about 20 minutes of working on it together we started to work on volume as a group or individuals in other words mini spirit session 1 v 1. The winner would win a free T-Shirt instead of paying $17 which is very cool! One of the girls at Eagle Rock won, she was loud, crisp, and knew the words very well. So a well deserved win for the first spirit session i've been too this year. We took a break to make some cute and fun Tik toks with our memes as groups, we went into a line and showed it off. After about 15 minutes we started cheering again. And this time Jacklyn (Our LTG) was testing our volume as a group since for fall rallies we were getting judged on how loud we are as a group. After a couple tries we finally matched jacklyns energy. We wrapped everything up, took photos and said our goodbyes. A very successful spirit session number 2!

TESSA YEE-- DNE & ER PREZ

On October 12, 2024, Region 7 held its yearly RTC (Region Training Conference). With an estimate of I think 160 or 180 representatives, this regional conference was a day to remember. Starting off with myself, I was designated to present the Editors slides along with a member of Division 16 South. Prepping for this, I think it went pretty well and it was useful that both of us were knowledgeable on the position and role as an editor. As a whole, I think RTC was honestly really fun. The highlight of the day would be the fact we won the spirit stick! For the upcoming Fall Rally, I hope that new members that came to RTC are motivated and we’ll see them at FRS. To add, Max and I spent a lot of time as well taking pictures for the scavenger hunt. And guess who won… US! As our prize, we split the reward of having a shirt from every division! Truly, an amazing day at RTC.

ROUND UP RTC

KATE ENRIQUEZ--

HISTORIAN-- GLENDALE

On Wednesday, October 2nd, Glendale High School Key Club members and our D03S LTG Jacklyn Song sold cake pops at the Glendale High School Round-Up event to fundraise for the club. Round-Up is an annual festival at GHS where different clubs set up games or stands selling food in order to raise money for the year. It is an event open to the community, and has school performances from the dance and cheer team as well as drumline. The event took place after school from 6-9PM, and alongside the cake pops, our stand was decorated with past spirit sticks and a photo frame from Hoover’s club rush! The club also took advantage of an ongoing feud between two popular history teachers to create fun ticket jars, with a team for each teacher. It was a lively and very successful night for the GHS Key Club. Left and right, teachers, students, and families were coming up to the booth to buy cake pops. We were happy to see people having a good time, and we hope for a second Round-Up in January!
