1. What is their mission?
PTP expands community outreach programs which seek to prevent and treat pediatric trauma. The funds toward PTP go to training doctors and nurses in advanced pediatric courses as well in purchasing pediatric medical equipment such as immobilization boards, incubators, and blood pressure gauges.
2. When was it founded?
The Kiwanis CNH Foundation recognized a serious need for education and training in the pediatric trauma and injury prevention. From there, the foundation established the Pediatric Trauma Program in 1994.
Did you know?
Unintentional injury is the #1 killer of children ages 14 and younger in the US. 9.000 families lose a child each year due to a preventable injury. Among children ages 14 and under, it is estimated that 40% of deaths and 50% of nonfatal unintentional injuries occur in and around the home

BOARD OF OFFICERS FEATURE
Why should people consider joining Key Club? It’s a great opportunity to make new friendships, build unforgettable memories, and become a confident leader that serves the community for the greater good. On the plus side, you can receive scholarships and it boosts your college applications. What do you have planned this year as VP? I plan on recruiting new members to get more student involvement and expand the size of our club. I also plan on implementing fun and interactive service events each month to boost our club’s monthly service hours. I want to create as much of a fun and inclusive environment I can. If you could choose any mascot and color for a division, what would they be? A lion and make the division color yellow because lions are natural-born leaders that aren’t afraid to take the lead, just like how key club members are the leaders of the community.
Why should people consider joining Key Club? Key Club offers a variety of service events from volunteering at community meals to tutoring. There is a lot to offer.

Why should people consider joining Key Club? People should consider joining key club not only because of the leadership skills they will gain, but also the friendships and everlasting memories they will be able to create! What do you have planned this year as treasurer? As treasurer this year, I am planning a wide variety of fundraisers! I would like to hold a baked goods drop off sale, partner with a local boba shop, and even hold fun virtual socials in which we can raise money for PTP while having fun! If you could choose any mascot and color for a division, what would they be? The Pink Sloths!
Why should people consider joining Key Club? You gain the pleasure of serving your community and making a difference in people’s lives by contributing to charities. You also receive scholarship opportunities, recognition opportunities, and leadership opportunities. What do you have planned this year as treasurer? This year I plan to work closely with my board members to come up with creative virtual service ideas and record service hours with as much accuracy as possible. I would also like to encourage more members to participate in division, region, and district events, and introduce them to the Member Recognition Program. If you could choose any mascot and color for a division, what would they be? A baby chick mascot would be really cute and the color could be a golden-yellow? Yellow is an overall positive and cheerful color, plus it lightly corresponds with the CNH colors! However, Division 8’s mascot and colors are perfect in my opinion :)

AMERICAN CANYON FOOD
DISTRIBUTION Provided by AC Tech Editor, MaeLing Hayes
This month each Thursday, American Canyon had volunteers continue to help to organize and distribute food donated by the community to those in need. Kiwanis and the Food Pantry donate non-perishables and Catholic Charities has donated fresh produce. During the event, all volunteers are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
