January DCM and Conclave were both on January 29th 2023. At the DCM it was nice to see old friends and meet new people from other divisions during the Conclave portion. My experience at conclave was amazing! This was the first conclave that I attended and had an great time. It was great to see everyone and witnessing the whole process of electing the next LTG. As part of Santa Teresa Key Club, I was proud to see someone from my school be elected as the next Nolan Lieu (STKC)

Club of the Month: Yerba Beuna

Member of the Month: Koleman Chang (STKC)

Officer of the Month: Vina Cong (YBKC)

As many positions are being open to new elections, the Division 12 South Graphics Committee is no exception! In the Graphics Committee members are expected to create fliers and graphics, with an average of 0-2 per month. On the borderline of deciding to apply for D12s’s Graphics Committee? Listen to the thoughts of one of our Graphics Committee members from last month!

Some of her fliers:

Being a self-motivated learner of graphic design, I joined Key Club as a way to convey language and beauty through an artistic medium. However, the opportunities presented within my home club limited my desire to fine-tune my skills further. I resonated with the Division Leadership Team’s Graphic Committee in their duties in increasing memberships on a wider scale by creating inviting fliers, thumbnails, and videos. My biggest takeaway from this endeavor was that there is always room for growth. While being a symbol of my perseverance to college admission officers, I too now welcome challenges with curiosity and as an opportunity to better myself.

Hey supa supervillains!

My name is Sidney Nguyen and throughout this past term I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to work with such dedicated members and officers. As your Executive Assistant of Service and a member just like the rest of you, I’ve met so many hardworking individuals throughout our division and am excited for the many more that I will meet throughout this upcoming term—just thinking about my last year with Key Club makes me a wee bit emotional :,) I’m honored to be given the chance to serve you all regardless, let’s slay it down this term D12S!

I am eager to work alongside the DLT and our clubs to ensure member involvement is consistent throughout the upcoming term. Every individual in Key Club deserves the chance to create lasting memories with one another while positively impacting the community as they do so. I hope to make this next term as memorable as can be for all of us!

Thinking about running for Lieutenant Governor is one thing, but actually becoming one is an entirely different series of events that I thought was just a silly little idea. Nonetheless, without the support of our DLT, my home club, Santa Teresa, our officers and members, this silly little idea may never have come to fruition. Division 12 South—since I couldn’t say it in my speech, I’ll say it here—your infectious spirit has awed me time after time. I hope to reciprocate everything Key Club has had for me to the rest of you. There is no better emotion than PRIDE for the other inspiring individuals around oneself, and there is no better division than the villains of 12 South <3

Always scheming with a smile, Sidney Nguyen
