FEATURING MAK ORIBELLO FROM CABRILLO KEY CLUB

Why did you join Key Club?

Before officially joining Key Club, I had been eyeing the club ever since I was in middle school. The majority of my older friends were members, some even part of their respective school club’s board, so learning about the club’s core values and main mission pulled me into joining.

What has Key Club taught you?

Key Club has genuinely taught me to embrace myself by being more open as well as loud— in a good way of course! Compared to last year, where I wasn’t in any club and afraid of involve myself in anything, I have grown to become way more expressive and thoughtful thanks to the club! :D

What is your Key Club moment?

FRS 2022 most definitely is my Key Club moment as it was my first time attending an FRS. Despite the freezing cold morning, I remember getting up for the event and being so excited to see my friends, see other divisions, and bust a lung during the Spirit Battle. The experience made me realize how much I loved being surrounded with my fellow Ninjas as well as others in Key Club too.

If someone is reluctant to join Key Club, what would you say?

JUST GO FOR IT!! Everyone here’s practically family, so you’re bound to meet new personalities all while helping your community and having all that spirit. :>

February was a bit light, it was a short month, we held one meeting, talked about elections and if anyone was interested in a position. Urged people to pay their dues if they were interested in a position. Some of us helped volunteer at the park next door, that’s pretty much it.
