September DCM

g n i k a M Dog Toy DCM

Along with division updates fron LTG Ashley and the club presdients recapping their month. meembers had the opportunity to make dog toys for donation using on one tshirt.

Xictlali Bernandino | Daiamond Ranch The LTG went over some of the upcoming events and had a representative from each school talk about what they’ve been doing recently/what plans they have for this semester, then they sent us into breakout rooms to work on the dog toys and talk to other people. At the end, it was a girls birthday so everyone sang to her. It was fun to attend, and the toys were relatively easy to make. :)

Yahir Perez | Montclair The September DCM was more on the relaxed and calm DCMs! The main event was dog toy making in which I, sadly, had no materials to participate in. However, I was still able to talk to other Key Clubbers in my breakout room and get to know each of them. A highlight was most definitely being able to celebrate my fellow D15W SPC, Chloe Wang’s birthday. Ashley Jung and I led the crowd singing Happy Birthday in Spanish and it was very fun! September dcm was very different from the rest in a positive way :)

Xavier Fernando | Daimond Ranch We spent around 30 minutes making holiday greeting cards for senior citizens. We were given the instructions to make and write a card that would put a smile on their faces, and to include visuals and avoid mentioning any specific holidays to avoid exclusion. There were a few examples we were given to inspire us. Christian Mendoza | Chino Hills Just came back from Isaiah's Rock. Had so much fun with random people. But you know what, that's how you meet people. By going down to Isaiah's Rock and volunteering for Key Club!! Hanbi Park | Chino Hills I had an amazing time working at Isaiah’s Rock! The work is very simple and I am so glad to be able to help the less fortunate. Through this experience, I realized how fortunate I am to have good food and shelter. I loved this opportunity and hope I can do it again.

Alexis Villamil | Chino Hills This month I participated in the Drive for Hope event which was a collaboration with Project Unity. This was a very fun opportunity because I got to meet new members at Ayala Key Club. It was also very exciting since this was my first in person event since quarantine. At this event, I simply had to organize and sort the items that were donated for families in need. This included clothing, school supplies and hygiene products. It felt so great to start doing events like this again. Knowing that I was able to help the community in some way, really warms my heart. Even though it was something so little, just having the idea that I was able to make someone’s day, makes it all worth it. It was such an amazing experience and I would definitely help out at the HOPE Family Resource Center again.

This month, Montclair Key Club appointed our very first Freshmen Representatives! Although we initially agreed on having one representative, we ultimately decided to accept all 5 of them and appointed them to 2 of the 4 committees to help expose them to the different aspects of leadership in Key Club! We held a quick training event with all of them and it turned out to be successful, with each of them getting assigned small tasks based on their respective committees. Our club is very ecstatic about this entirely new experience and we’re looking forward to what it has in store! 10
