Key Club Dues?

Why do members have to pay money to be part of a club? As part of an international organization, Key Club is different from other clubs and must pay a fee in order to have all the benefits. Here are some reasons why paying your Key Club dues and becoming an official Key Club member (usually $10-$20) at school is worth it!:

fun EVENTS

• Countless Division, Region, District, International events •FALL RALLY (field trip to Six Flags), work shops, dances, night markets! DCMs (socials with other members from other schools), DCON • EVERYONE is invited and these events are VERY FUN! By attending, you will meet so many new friends, find opportunities for leadership, and overall have a fun time.

• LEADERSHIP & mentorship opportunities (K-Family, officers, joining division and district board advisors) • State & International recognition awards • Scholarship opportunities

I can’t believe that it is already October! I feel like this term has gone by so fast, and I am so proud of everything that you have accomplished thus far. Our division has grown immensely, and I am so excited to see you all at Fall Rally South next month. As we transition into even more in-person events, I hope you all create new bonds across different divisions and regions. One of the best parts of Key Club are the people you meet, and I am so excited to see you all grow and forge new friendships and paths. I would also like to acknowledge the fundraising successes of our division, courtesy of our very own Division Fundraising Coordinators: Lana Mendiola and Ashley Jung! Thanks to their hard work and YOUR constant support, we have almost reached one thousand dollars in donations to PTP! I am so proud of the impact we are making on our communities and our world. Continue to serve your community with pride and love belugas! Yours in Service,

The Division 15’s all came togethr to compete in a division DECATHLON! Playing a variety of games (like Geoguesser), Key Clubbers were tested of their knowledge to see how ready they were for the start of school... Amanda Louie | Chino Hills I chose to participate in my first Key Club DCM because I’m looking to be active in clubs and school activities as a freshman. I liked how open and friendly all of the speakers were, and the games that I got a chance to engage in. It was nice that new members were able to ask any questions or concerns that they had to help better understand how the Key Club works. This meeting helped me see what being in this club would be like, and I had fun learning about the dynamics and and people within the group. 8

August DCM! For many, this was their first Key Club DCM and impression of what Key Club represents! Sarah Nguyen | Chino Hills I chose to participate in this event because I wanted to get an experience of what key club was like. Since this is my first year, I still don't really know what this club is about, other than the fact we volunteer, so the dcm was a nice introduction to what the rest of the year may be like. I enjoyed being able to hear more about Key Club and playing games with other people, and look forward to similar events in the future! Aubrey Duncan | Chino Hills I loved how we were able to play games over zoom! This was my first time participating, and I really liked it. It informed me more about Key Club, and everyone was so welcoming and kind!

CLUB RUSH & First Meetings

Club Rush begins an exciting time in Key Club with new members and the intense fervor.

Annie Ly | Montclair During Club Rush, our officers were able to promote Key Club! Although it was quite stressful at times, all of our hard work paid off when we received 100 application forms within a week! It provided such a great platform to show what Key Club offered and to show off our spirit and passion. The success of Club Rush has definitely instilled a sense of confidence in us and we’re looking forward to all of the new opportunities in store for us :)

Catherine Vargas | Daimond Ranch My experience at Club Rush was very fun and only slighty nerve-wracking. It was a little intimidating to be running the booth, since I was the only available council member at 2nd lunch. At first, I was too nervous to say anything. Once people started coming up to our booth, however, the words started naturally coming out and I felt confident. I feel like Key Club has taught me a lot about self-confidence, public speaking, and socializing. By the end of club rush, we had around 70 signatures!

Ashley Jung | Ayala This was the first time in awhile where I had attended an in-person region event after the pandemic. I had finally met everyone in my division leadership team and enjoyed seeing the top half of people’s faces who I have never met in real life. The LTGs did an amazing job in organizing the first back in-person region event since everyone I know that attended had a great time. I even finally got the hang of roller skating with the help of my fellow Key Club members. It made me happy that we were all having a great time bonding with one another, while fundraising and donating money to the PTP at the same time. I hope to participate in more interactive and well-organized events like this in the future! 12

Annie Ly | Montclair The Skating for PTP event on September 5th was such a fun experience! Being able to meet all of the friends I made over quarantine was definitely one of my favorite moments of the event. Our division had such a good turnout, and seeing all the members in person and having a good time really made me realize why I enjoyed Key Club in the first place. This term is already starting off strong and I can’t wait to see what else it has in store for us!
