Service Apps

Provided by Jeremy Lee Oani (ERHS)

During the summer, the ERHS Key Club has continued to do service via technology with the Charity Miles and Free Rice apps. The Charity Miles app allows members to earn service hours just by traveling certain distances by foot. This could be through walking or jogging. The Free Rice app allows us to earn service hours just by answering questions that deal with vocabulary. For every question we get right, more food is donated to those unfortunate around the world. We have also been increasing participation throughout the whole club by going to DCMs and more. With this, we have been getting to know each other more through more zoom meetings with each other. Additionally, we have been planning on more ways we could get service events going. Whether this be picking up trash at the park or more zoom meetings. We have really used this summer to get fully prepared for the next year. We hope that it will be a great one!

Food Drive

Provided by Nathaniel De Francia (PVHS)

A service project that our club decided to do was a food drive. This food drive was held on May 15th which was on a Saturday. The officers that assisted in running this event were Nadia Gutierrez (2024 Class Delegate),

Nathaniel De Francia (Webmaster), Alex Martinez (President), and Mrs. Clark (Advisor). The plan for this event is to distribute canned goods as well as dropping off bookmarks for the Santa Maria Public Library to the school. There were about seven members that were able to participate in this drive-thru event. Members brought in

canned foods, pasta, beans, and many more

non-perishable foods. In addition, members brought in homemade bookmarks from a past service event held in our general Zoom meetings.13
