Spotlight Questionnaire

I would rather live in cold weather because I find the activities for staying warm (bundling up, having warm drinks, etc.) to be much more enjoyable than activities for staying cool (like going in the water or wearing fewer layers). I also really love when it rains, which tends to come along with colder weather.

I would rather live in the cold because I think the clothing that you could wear is much more comfortable. Also, the cold day foods are definitely more comforting to me than hot day foods. Plus, if I lived in the cold, I feel that I could forget about the imminent dangers of global warming!

If I could eliminate anything it would be vice, as all evil and suffering in the world, in part, stem from some sin committed by another being. In addition, I assume people would be much happier if they no longer bared the guilt of past sins, and so too would the victims of those sins.

I consider human beings as unique because of the different traits and qualities that makes someone special. It does not matter if someone is different, but that just makes someone unique and I consider that special.

Service Apps

Provided by Jeremy Lee Oani (ERHS)

With the 2021-2022 school year coming up and summer coming to a close, the ERHS Key Club have started to make plans for service opportunities during the year. We have already planned out one service opportunity later on August 27 called the Honkey-Tonk Fundraiser Dinner. This will be our first person contact service event in a while ever since the pandemic. We will be helping prepare and serve food. Throughout the month we have continued to get our service hours in through the Free Rice app and the Charity Miles app. The Free Rice app allows us to donate food to those in need around the world just by answering simple vocabulary questions. With the Charity Miles app, we are able to earn service hours by gaining mileage through walking, running, or jogging. We are very excited for the upcoming school year as we will be able to complete much more than last year due to the pandemic. Go Warriors!

Service Week

Provided by Nathaniel De Francia (PVHS)

A service project that our school decided to do was to partake in a service week. A service week is when each day there is a new service opportunity to receive volunteer hours. Our President Alexandra said it would be a great idea for us to have a service week because school is right around the corner. The Service Week is shown as the following: Monday Written Affirmations which is to create a nice letter for someone, Tuesday is Free Rice which is to answer questions and help those who live in hunger, Wednesday is Charity Miles which you can do any form of exercise to raise money for charity, Thursday is Pause for which you pause for a certain amount of time to help different organizations, and finally Friday which is UNICEF Math. Overall, this Back to School- Service Week will be a great help to those who are in need of volunteer hours and a great way to give back to those in need!
