The Mountain Biking | Downhill is a modality that is increasingly in the sports panorama, national and international. Downhill is considered the "F1" of mountain bikes. A competition that consists of making a timed descent of a mountain, in which riders have to overcome several obstacles like roots, rocks, jumps, in the shortest time possible. In season 2013, Jo達o continued the work that has been done to achieve his goals at a time that was marked by numerous injuries. With the impossibility of following what had initially planned in training and in competition, the athlete failed to achieve all the goals for 2013. Yet the result of his persistence has achieved an important place in the 3rd place at the Enduro Mountain biking Vodafone Trophy. This result was very important for his history, motivating him for next season. This result had a heyday for all his sponsors in the media, where Jo達o has gained a space even when things do not go the best way.
Biography
Jo達o Rodrigues, better known as "JR", is 26 years old and was born in the the city Guarda. He graduated in Sports at the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and as a student, Jo達o has always practiced sport, and started pedaling at 12. He began in the shed Cross Country, which had a satisfactory journey for 6 years that provided him an invitation to join a team of reference in the National Downhill. Rodrigues, joined the Team Haro / Sram in 2006 and since then has managed to evolve season after season. Presently runs as individual and has clearly defined objectives for which he fights competition after competition, bearing in mind the sportsmanship, respect and friendship towards others.

Logistics The pilot Jo達o Rodrigues has a logistics which is fundamental to his season. This includes the staff, consisting of a mechanic, photographer and manager, competition vehicle and a paddock, which has a shop, sports equipment and a place to host his guests, being the first showcase for his sponsorship.
Social Responsibility
Over the years, the pilot Jo達o Rodrigues has assumed a role in development of sport in the Guarda region and in our country, implementing children the values of truth, justice and respect for others. In this sense, he's seeking a participatory approach, helping children to engage themselves in cycling. Several projects have been developed in sports, reflecting an effective concern for the sport genre, among which highlights several shows Dirt Jump at parties and store openings, events and Regional Championship Downhill Dirt Jump, in the social, Rodrigues has accomplished every year activities with disadvantaged children of the city of Guarda in collaboration with the municipal swimming pools and other city institutions. Next season, Jo達o will create a project of environmental awareness, to warn of the importance of forest protection and recycling.
