LETTER FROM THE LTG Hello, Huskeys! Can you believe it? The school year has come and gone and now it’s time to say goodbye to our wonderful seniors! Thank you to the graduating class of 2017, whether you’ve been in Key Club all four years or this was your first year- your service is valued. As you move forward with your lives, I wish you the best of luck! May Key Club hold a special place in your heart. Summer is almost here but that doesn’t mean Key Club ends! Community service doesn’t stop! Continue to participate in events over the summer and make a difference in your community. This means beach clean-ups, volunteering at your local library, helping out with your city’s festivities; the possibilities are endless! BEE sure to keep an eye out for division events too! Officer Training Conference will take place over the summer. This is a great opportunity for all new officers to learn more about their position and tips for success. I can’t wait for all the fun we’ll have together this summer! Onwards and Upwards,

SPOTLIGHT ON SERVICE Mary Vagle Clean Up | AB Miller Members attended the monthly park clean-up at the Mary Vagle Nature Center. They helped by pulling out weeds, picking up trash along the trail, and raking up leaves. We had a great turnout and our members enjoyed socializing with other Key Clubbers from Summit High School.

JHHS Track Meet | Jurupa Hills By: Allan Aquino, President The Jurupa Hills Key Club has been volunteering at school track meets lately. While our Spartan track team ran their races, we worked behind the scenes moving around equipment, measuring long jumps, and timing racers. We also showed our school spirit by cheering on racers as they passed by! Coaches were impressed with our service and asked us to serve again the following week. We were delighted to have been of good service to the coaches and teammates of our track team!

Thai Lao Cambodian New Year Festival | Jurupa Hills By: Brandon Aragon, Editor TLC New Years, or Thai Cambodian Lao New Years was a very colorful and lively cultural experience for our members. During this action packed event, our members had the opportunity to volunteer at the local Buddhist monastery. Our members were involved in serving and preparing food for all the festival attendees. We cut lemons, prepared meatballs, then cut lemons again, cleaned tables, then juiced lemons, Served drinks, then cut more lemons, made snow cones, and did a variety of other task including cutting lemons (there was a lot of lemon cutting). It was a joy experiencing other cultures and a privilege to have served our local community!
