MESSAGE FROM LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

Hello Huskeys, October is already finishing up! We had many accomplishments only creating memories, experiences, and successes this past month. We won the Region 4 Spirit Stick at RTC, we had an event with 200 Key Club members, and we are having exponential service hours adding onto the total term. With entering November, it is officially FALL RALLY TIME. If you have not noticed, we are have been preparing for Fall Rally for months with our Pediatric Trauma Program Fundraisers, Division Spirit Gear, and Division Chants (led by Mariah Sanchez!) Not only that, we are having greater participation and division involvement from even more clubs. We will be entering Maternal Neonatal Tetanus fundraising shortly after, preparing for the next term, and only growing in service, leadership, and family.

Serving Through The Winter Storms, Julieann Bui

What are dues? Dues is the collective cost of membership. Turning in dues makes members official Key Club International members.

How much are dues? Dues for the California-Nevada-Hawaii District are $11.50. Clubs may increase this price to no more than $23 to cover additional costs, budget, etc.

Why do I have to turn in dues? Not turning in dues sets a limit to how much you are able to do in Key Club. There are certain events/procedures that require dues: Fall Rally, District Convention, International Convention, etc. or voting in elections, serving as an officer, etc. As well as the title of an Official Key Club International Member.

PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM Pediatric Trauma: unintentional injury. It remains the leading cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the United States. More children die from unintentional injuries than all other childhood diseases combined.

What is it? Pediatric Trauma Program, also known as PTP, is a program developed by the Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis Foundation to develop projects that will reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma.

What are our efforts doing? Providing grants to our partner hospitals, enabling them to create or expand community outreach programs, grants to Kiwanis and SLP clubs, enabling them to help more children in more communities, and you provide PTP safety items, which are available for purchase by our Kiwanis family at a subsidized cost.

CLUB COMMITMENT: EACH CLUB HAS BEEN ASKED TO MAKE A $100 PTP DONATION

Key Club Week is a way to celebrate what Key Club is all about for one full week. Clubs vary on when they participate in Key Club Week, but most have it during the week of November 3rd to November 7th.
