event recap Last month, before the new year we had two wonderful opportunities throughout the month of December. The first event took place on the 12th of December on zoom, which was filled with holiday music and fun holiday topics. Key Club members from Henry J. Kaiser High School and Bloomington High School were the ones involved in this event and came together to make either snowflakes or letters. Each member would receive two hours of community service regardless of how many snowflakes or letters they made. Five days later the snowflakes/letters were dropped off. Hopefully, the snowflakes that would be donated to a hospice, help to make their area more lively! Hopefully, the letters that were made and donated to a senior center helped to brighten up someone’s day! The second opportunity was also on zoom and it took place on the 21st of December where members of Key Club from Henry J. Kaiser High School and Bloomington High School got together again. This time to make dog toys for our friendly canines and fill the meeting with holiday cheer. The members would receive a maximum of 2 hours regardless of how many dog toys they made. The dog toys would be made out of old t-shirts and the meeting involved helpful instructions on how to make them so that everyone could participate and make their own dog toys! A week later the dog toys were dropped off and then they were donated to the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Shelter. Hopefully this brought happiness to dogs of all kinds and sizes with new toys to play with! Submitted by: Kenia Castaneda (Kaiser Key Club)

event recap On Friday, December 18, Grand Terrace and Summit High School came together to host a Christmas themed movie night, as well as a service event. The event lasted from 8-10 PM on the division discord server, where “The Christmas Chronicles” was streamed for both clubs to watch together, and socialize. The event first started off with a game of Kahoot, in which the first place winner received a free Holiday Mug from the division fundraiser. Members were also given the opportunity to complete a few hours writing short thank you messages to essential workers through a website, which relayed the letters virtually. The movie social was a great way for members from both schools to bond, and get into the holiday spirit! Thanks to Summit’s officers who helped lead a successful event!
