Fontana Car Show BY: andrea oviedo Every month our city holds an annual car show. Our members helped by setting up, passing out flyers to the approaching car show participants, and supervise the area around them, making sure everything was going the way it was supposed to. “It was pretty hot but then it got cooler. (Tristin Alvarez)

Spotlight on Service

Every month, the CNH District offers an opportunity for every club to be recognized for their participation in community service and the SOSP Monthly Focus. Each month, there is a designated theme that clubs are encouraged to direct service towards. Not only can your club’s service project have the chance to be mentioned in the District Newsletter, it will always be featured here. For more information, feel free to contact me or LTG Daniel Sanchez.

October’s Focus 14 United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to combat maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) worldwide. This historic initiative, called "The Eliminate Project," will protect the lives of babies and mothers all over the globe and will help end this cruel, centuries-old disease. The final push to eliminate MNT requires $110 million and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family. The more than 100 million women, along with their future newborns, who will be protected through global MNT elimination efforts live in areas scarred by poverty, poor medical infrastructure or humanitarian crises. The Eliminate Project will also help pave the way for the delivery of other lifesaving services, such as clean water, nutrition and other vaccines. -Lily Marshall (CNH District Service Projects Committee Chair)
