It’s Fall, and in some parts of the country the leaves are bright orange, deep red, and even some aspen yellow. They are stunning colors that are just as breath-taking as the green of spring. And as those who live in areas where the leaves turn such dramatic colors take in the moment, a slight breeze begins to bring a noticeable chill in the air. A harvest moon will soon start to peak its way up over the not too distant mountains. What a sight and oh what beauty. If you have ever seen the colors of fall you know what I’m talking about. But what amazes me is how we so often miss the majesty of God and His creation that every day is all around us. The touch of a child’s hand. The splendor of love embraced. The kiss of the sun. Too often, the pace and pain of modern day life has tarnished our experience and appreciation of God’s great creation. The Psalmist David must have experienced untold numbers of “God Creation” days because he declares in Psalm 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.” (ESV)
The word “declare” actually means to count and number objects. It is as if the very heavens number, one by one, the greatness and awesome power of God. If God’s words and actions didn’t already sufficiently point to His glory and power, nature certainly does. The sheer majesty of the earth and the universe reflect and declare their Creator’s handiwork. There is no way around it. His glory is everywhere. Paul admonishes that no person who has lived, or ever will live, has an excuse for not knowing God. “For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world… so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20 ESV) And again, the Psalmist exhorts us in Psalm 150 to not only see…to not only believe… but to “praise Him in His mighty heavens” (Vs 1 – ESV). Take time to enjoy His handiwork. Soak it in. Meditate on His power and majesty. Then praise Him to the highest heavens as you hunger and thirst for more of His Glory…

As in the past, we will be asking for help to set-up, decorate, cook, welcome, serve, clean up, and donate some items we will need for the event. If you can help in any way in these areas, please Pastor Ray or Gabe Ortiz.

You gave up your life so I might be free When I was a child I just didn't see How you loved me before I ever began Knowing I was a part of the world’s perfect plan I know that I'm only one soul on this earth Your love has been with me from the start of my birth My eyes are now open I finally see You've been there beside me, you died on a tree To save me from all of the sins that I bear Your love’s been amazing, only You've really cared The love that You've shown me - I can give that love too It doesn't come from me it comes only from You
