Mogadishu University Towards A Better Future
MESSAGE OF THE MU PRESIDENT
Dear Mogadishu University graduates, It is a great honor for me to first congratulate the graduating students of Mogadishu University who have satisfied all of the graduation requirements. I wish to convey to them that they have earned their place among the earlier graduates in both honor and pride and I wish them success and prosperity in the years to come. In addition, I recognize and congratulate the faculties, the administration, and the support staff of the university who have put together their thoughts and efforts in order for these graduates to achieve their goals and, at the same time, allowed this university to stay on the path of success. When this university was founded almost two decades ago, as the first Somali university since the civil war, it became a pioneer as well as a role model for all other higher education institutions that followed in its path. Similarly, MU graduates are also role model for past, present, and future graduates of Somalia. Because of this, I want to remind them to take this responsibility very seriously. It has been one of the objectives of this institution, since its inception, to work towards the positive transformation of this country from a civil war devastated country to a fully functioning developing country by both educating and training its students as core of Somali community that means MU is committed to providing high quality education to its students as producing graduates with high ethics and social responsibility which is a crucial for the development of our country particularly at this critical juncture. Therefore the next phase of your life holds great promise not only for you and your families but also for this country. I am hopeful that the knowledge you have gained will enable you to be responsible citizens and positively contribute to the rebuilding of Somalia and beyond.
Prof. Ali Sheikh Ahmed,
The President
Finally, my dear graduates, I hope that you maintain your ties to the university and fellow alumni and that you continue to strive for the best by treating your education as a springboard, not a finishing line and make your move forward toward the professional. Again, Congratulations to you and wish you all the best and bright future.

Dean's Message
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is one of the main pillars of the Mogadishu University. It is comprised of four departments: 11. 22. 33. 44.
Arabic Language Literature. English Language Literature. History & Civilizations . Geography.
Moreover, new other departments are planned. Since its bedrock was constituted in 1998, hundreds of students have graduated from the Faculty. At present , most of them play a great role in various institutions inside and outside of our country. The main purpose of the Faculty is to focus on creating a new generation who participate in building their country , keeping its culture and encouraging researches. The Educational process of the Faculty consists of a shape of triangle, representing the lecturers, students and curriculum. The Faculty has well-experienced lecturers who sacrifice everything for teaching as well as students who sacrifice all their efforts for learning in a hard situation in their country. As for the curriculum , the Faculty maintains a internationally standardized curriculum. Finally, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Mogadishu University promises quality , commitment and responsibility to all students.
