Young DaDa encourages and empowers disabled and deaf young people through creativity. Over 2000 young people have taken part in cultural activity, creative projects and training including visual arts, performance, creative writing, music and film making with Young DaDa. It relies on donations, public funds, trusts and donations to survive. We do not charge a ticket price, in order to keep the event open to all, but please consider making a donation to keep Young DaDaFest and the young people’s arts activities running. There is a donation box near the auditorium entrance, or you can text ‘DADA30 £5’ to 70070 to donate £5 by text (or replace the £5 with £10 or £2 to donate more or less). Young DaDa is proud to present Young DaDaFest 2013. Young people make the key decisions on the running of Young DaDa and their leadership skills are nurtured through our steering group. The steering group has planned and coordinated Young DaDaFest.

Programme 1) Sandfield Park: Summer Medley – A mixture of dance, music and song based around a summer time theme. 2) Redbridge Dance Club – An interpretive dance piece about bullying and how to ‘stamp it out’. 3) Bank View Signing Choir – A mixture of KS3 & 4 students performing ‘Keep Holding On’. 4) Acting Up – Performed by a multi-art group, this performance is linked to their lives and incorporates song, movement & Makaton signing. 5) Joshua Henderson – A solo guitarist and singer who will be performing ‘The City of Blinding Lights’ by U2. 6) Young DaDa – Schoolageddon short film
Programme 10) LikeU Dance Company – A performance called ‘…Fix Me?’ about how people stereotype and judge. Interval (45 Minutes) 7) Clueless – A rock song performed by three young musicians from Abbot’s Lea School. 8) Aigburth Singing Group – A variety of different songs, including: ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele. 9) Craig Prendez – A singer songwriter assisted by guitarist Dave Walsh. They will perform ‘When You Fall Apart’ a song Craig wrote for his mum.
