Car Care Tips for Fall Be Careful of Leaves

Check Your Car

The landscape may be beautiful, but wet leaves can be just as slippery as ice especially in shaded areas with low temperatures. Proceed with caution and avoid breaking over a pile of leaves.

Change your windshield wiper blades and be sure clean out leaves. With dropping temps, check your car’s tire pressure as the air in your tires may not be exerting as much pressure as they did in July.

Don’t Veer for Deer

Check Your Headlights

Fall has a higher risk of car related accidents involving deer and swerving to avoid can be just as dangerous. Keep in mind deer travel in groups and are most likely active at dusk and dawn.

With daylight hours changing, the sun provides a strong glare at times. Using your headlights makes you more visible to other drivers, joggers and children playing in the street. Always use your low beams on foggy days.

Work on your car indoors at Auto Skills! 6138 Golf Lane, Bldg. 1282 / 540.653.4900 BAY FEE: $6 per hour / Active Duty $7 per hour / DoD Civilian Monday: 10-6 p.m. / Thursday-Friday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. / Saturday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. / Closed Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday
