CHANGES TO LONG BEACH TRANSIT SERVICE

9 Monday, August 26, 2013

THE STUDENT’S GUIDE TO CHANGES IN CSULB PARKING

The changes took effect Aug. 25. ROUTES 71/72 COMBINED –

ROUTE 121 – Ocean Boulevard /

Alamitos Avenue / Orange Avenue: Weekend trips arriving and leaving the First Street Transit Gallery from 8:35 p.m. to 9:35 p.m. change to 9:05 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. respectively to help reduce congestion in the Gallery.

Second Street / Belmont Shore / CSULB: This route no longer travels to the Outer Circle. Coming from CSULB, it turns south onto Clark Avenue from Atherton Street, northwest on PCH, north on Ximeno Avenue, east on Atherton Street and resume the current route. Additional buses are scheduled from PCH at Parkside College to CSULB from Monday to Thursday, resulting in service every 10 minutes between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. Instead of traveling to Ocean Boulevard and Termino Avenue, this route will now travel directly onto Livingston Drive toward Belmont Shore.

ROUTE 81 – 10th Street: Buses

leaving the downtown area turn west on Seventh Street instead of Third Street. Buses turn north onto Pacific Avenue from Seventh Street and continue the current route.

ROUTES 91/92/93/94/96 COMBINED – Seventh Street / Bellflower Boulevard / Clark Avenue / Woodruff Avenue: Services return to the fall/winter schedule with more frequent bus service during peak hours.

ROUTE 96 “ZAP” – Seventh Street: The “ZAP” resumes one-way only service during peak morning and afternoon hours when school is in session.

ROUTES 111/112 COMBINED –

Broadway Avenue / Lakewood Boulevard / Clark Avenue: Service returns to the fall/winter schedule with more frequent bus service.

ROUTE 171 – PCH / CSULB:

Service returns to fall/winter schedule with more frequent bus service. Buses arrive every 15 minutes later in the afternoon.

Gated parking lots 4, 6, 7 and 9 are now available for general parking at 5:30 p.m. each evening, rather than 6:00 p.m. Students may park in the following lots after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends: 3, 8, 8a, 15 and 17

PASSPORT – Queen Mary / Pine

Avenue: This route returns to the fall/winter schedule and operates less frequently due to lower ridership during these seasons. It operates every 14 minutes on the weekday and 10 minutes on the weekend.

Student parking permits are now required to be placed on rear passenger windows. However, if the back window is tinted, the parking permit should be placed on the passenger side of the windshield.
