An Interview with Music Artist “Kabir McNeely”
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work and who were some of your influences growing up? I’m Kabir McNeely. I got into music after I started acting and producing films. I discovered that I could create music for my films. I love creating
artistic opportunities for myself so I jumped at it. Of course, I’m an actor and filmmaker first. But I’ve begun to love making music. Q: What kind of training have you had, if any? I haven’t been trained in music other than elementary and middle school music classes. I have done private voice lessons for a few years. Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far? My favorite song that I’ve done is “Party Time”. It’s the first song I’ve done in which I could easily picture the kind of film scene which the song would fit. Q: How did you get the gig? I created it for myself. I make films and I figured that I could create music for it. Because of the COVID-19 lockdown, I’ve had to create a lot of my recent artistic opportunities like a lot of other artists. Q: What projects do you have coming up? I’m working on a short film right now titled “Vlog 1225”. I definitely have a couple of original beats in mind which is very exciting.
