Welcome to the second edition of the South Valley Chamber of Commerce annual magazine! We are thrilled to present this publication, marking the continuation of what we hope will become a tradition for many years to come.
The South Valley Chamber of Commerce is more than just an organization. We are a team, with staff and committee members who are dedicated to fostering connections, advocating for businesses, providing education, and driving growth. Our mission is clear: to work collaboratively with local businesses, governments, and community leaders to ensure the success, prosperity and job creation for our members and businesses in the south valley region.
At the heart of our commitment to education and growth are the various initiatives and programs we offer. The South Valley Chamber Business Institute provides courses
like: the Business Accelerator, Boot Camps, Leadership South Valley and in partnership with Salt Lake Community College, the Everyday Entrepreneur Program.
Networking is a cornerstone of our approach. We actively organize events and forums to help connect business leaders with potential customers. We plan and support advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.
While our reach extends across Salt Lake County, we have established strategic partnerships with Sandy City, Riverton City, Draper City, South Jordan City, Cottonwood Heights, Herriman City, and Bluffdale City. These alliances ensure that businesses in these communities have access to our programs, connections to relationships, business insights and other valuable courses and events. Our commitment to empowerment is evident in our Women In Business (WIB) program
and the Jr WIB program. These initiatives not only bring together industry leaders for events and speakers but they also mentor over 25 young women from local high schools each year. These mentees actively participate in planning events and executing responsibilities, culminating in a $1,000 scholarship at the end of the school year for their dedication.
As we welcome you to the South Valley, we invite you to be part of a community where growth is not just a buzzword, but a reality. Here, businesses and community leaders share a vision that creates opportunities, ensuring that our members achieve more than mere success.
Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey.
Sincerely,
Jay K. Francis President/CEO South Valley Chamber of Commerce

“The South Valley Chamber of Commerce helps to broaden our exposure in the business community and connects us with customers and clients looking for the services we offer. They have been a valuable partner and continue to increase their influence and reach throughout Salt Lake County.”
- Rob Brough, Zions Bank
“The Altabank Business Accelerator was a game changer for my business. I learned how to identify and connect with my target audience. It also helped me understand my day-to-day operations so I knew how my business was doing at any moment. As a result, my business has been growing ever since.”
- Dave Khwaja, First Touch Consulting
“I recently completed the Leadership South Valley program, and it was an incredibly insightful experience. The program exposed me to a diverse range of industries and their leaders, broadening my perspective on effective leadership. One of the key takeaways for me was the importance of collaboration; true leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room with all the answers. It’s about fostering teamwork, continuously learning, and always asking ‘why.’ This program has equipped me with valuable insights that I will carry forward in my personal and professional journey.”
- Cindy Spillane, Daybreak Community Association
“The Business Accelerator Program through the South Valley Chamber was a great experience. We covered a variety of topics each week, and our class was very engaged, asking questions in ways I would not have thought to. This alone was very helpful. Also, Ralph is fun to learn from, cares about his students and has a wealth of experience. The relationships you make in this course are invaluable. If you are thinking about taking it, it is worth your time, but I will say this: lean in!”
- Colleen Orton, Beyond Health Consulting
“Business Accelerator was a great opportunity for me to meet new people and learn some new concepts about small business ownership. Even though I’m not a small business owner … learning about the struggle and the satisfaction of small-business ownership was incredibly valuable to me as I continue my path toward ownership. The friends and connections I made with this group have been invaluable to me this year.”
- Matt Quinney, Bank of Utah
