BEST GYM/WORKOUT FACILITY MOSCOW CROSSFIT 255 East Nelson Ave., Moscow, (208) 413-4101 > Moscow Crossfit owner and head coach Mic Santos once trained with friends in his garage with the garage doors open to the outdoors. Santos still works out that way but the garage, and the number of friends, has grown. The gym features a 24-foot pullup rig, ropes, rings, tires and barbells — all used outside by the the gym’s more than 100 members. Getting down and dirty is one of the draws of Crossfit, Santos said. “We focus on making each other better rather than competing against one another.”

Co-founder and co-owner Doug McIntosh says the secret to the winery’s success is likely the scenic location, a country vineyard surrounded by rolling wheat fields east of the Lewiston Orchards. “People always tell us it’s nice to be away from town,” he said of the venue, which is available for special events and weddings.

The steak isn’t breaded. Instead, Northwest beef is covered in a secret seasoning, said owner Mike Ingram. “All the bite size is hand-cut by us here in the house — we don’t order it processed or packaged somewhere else,” he said.
