MS: My favorite memory is of winning high school nationals in my junior year of high school. We were seeded to lose 9-0 in the final, but upset our opponents with a 5-4 win DP: What’s the thing you miss most about Philly? MS: I miss my family and Flywheel spinning classes! DP: What was your craziest match? MS: Craziest and most memorable match was at high school nationals during my senior year. All my friends from school came to watch our team play and there was so much excitement and positive energy. It was such a special feeling to have them all supporting me, and I played one of the best matches of my junior career DP: What’s the hardest thing about being on the team? MS: The hardest thing is balancing academics and athletics. DP: How do you celebrate a big win? MS: Nomad pizza! DP: What’s your signature dance move? MS: Uncomfortably hopping in place with a little hip movement. DP: Three things you would bring to a desert island? MS: Sunscreen – I fry in the sun, a good book, and sushi. DP: Three adjectives people would use to describe you on the court? MS: Excited, happy, and focused. DP: Best thing about Princeton? MS: For me, the best thing about Princeton has been all of the amazing people I’ve met.

Monica McGrath once again impressed the crowd by claiming the 1650 free with a time of 16:48.78. In the following event, junior Lindsay Temple and freshman Christie Chong came out above their Ivy League opponents, finishing second and third in 2:00.63 and 2:00.87, respectively. The only swimmer to come out ahead of the two was Rutger’s Koprivova, with an impressive 1:54.49. In the last swim event of the meet, the relay comprising sophomore Isabel Reis, juniors Maddy Veith and Lindsay Temple, and sophomore Monica McGrath came in 3:20.13, second only to Brown, which finished 3:20.13. In the end, both the men and women’s teams finished second overall, trailing the hosts. Although last year’s victory against Brown did not repeat itself, both teams took home many individual conference wins. The Tigers’ next game will be on Friday, Dec. 9, against Columbia (1-2 Men’s, 0-2 Women’s). This meet will be the Tiger’s last event of 2016, before the Men and Women’s teams take on Navy and Villanova in January, respectively.
