INTERIOR DESIGN
Daisyma. Interior Design. That's right, her nick-name is her full name. Daisy's goal as a designer is to create meaningful experiences for our future – with considerations of different systems, conditions, and our planet. What separates Daisy from other designers is her drive, passion, and approach. She is able to adapt quickly to change. The ability to adapt to change births innovation and the enhancement for the human experience. The Story Abstract: Under the foggy conditions her hometown San Francisco, she was building her model for a high school architecture competition and placed second in the Best Model category. She was able to continue her new found passions in architecture by receiving a fully-funded scholarship for highschool students at Academy of Art in San Francisco. Conclusion: Seven years later, the mighty five-foot San Francisco-native graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Interior Design with a Minor in Psychology.

LIVING IN NETFLIX After researching Netflix's values and employees, the concept Living in Netflix supports these variables. The three “living scenarios,” supports Netflix’s core philosophy of people over process. Spaces that positively impacts the well-being of a person, creating fun and functional spaces that are flexible amongst its diverse employees and place that they can home is Living in Netflix.
LIVING IN NETFLIX The Living in Netflix portion of the space is a strategy for branding. The inspiration comes from Netflix’s diverse content. To be Living in Netflix is to be in it - shows and movies blend into the office without a direct association with the content and therefore won’t be outdated. The eclectic areas share a cohesive scheme through materials.
LIVING IN NATURE Research shows that effects of biophillic
design is proven to promote productivity and wellbeing while reducing stress. The Living in Nature portion highlights the greenery used in the spaces.
LIVING HOME The Living Room spaces reflects Netflix’s
core value of people over process. These spaces are designed to give a welcoming impression to encourage family-like gatherings. The home-like spaces are set up like a family dinner or a gathering in a living room.

Harmony Health Healthcare In collaboration with: Samantha Lee Responsibilities: Concept development, written essay, descriptions, finishes, interior design, presentation Duration: 1 Month Project Type: Healthcare Interiors Size: ~8,000 SF Softwares Used: Revit, Enscape, Photoshop
Harmony Health, a digestive health clinic located in Scottsdale, Arizona welcomes all people from different cultures, beliefs and backgrounds. Harmony’s purpose is to provide modern treatments with acknowledgement to the city’s historical origins. The concept behind Harmony Health is to meld the transition from traditional, current and future medicine, to look at medicine holistically and consider traditional and alternative methods. Humans have learned from the past and it is essential to embrace our roots as we further develop medicine and healthcare as whole to exemplify what has been done and explore what could be done. As Scottsdale is an advancing and growing city, harmony’s physical appearance is inspired by the past but designed to be flexible with the city’s forthcoming.

Space Planning
A challenge of this space was the location of the reception in relationship with its distance to the windows. In the space planning diagram, the priority was defining an easy patient flow with consideration of the amount of time spent in each space. Infusion patients spend relatively more time in the suite, therefore natural sunlight was prioritized to them. Two side-lite doors between the rooms to allow light to penetrate into the reception. The two departments are split between the two groups of exam rooms placed on either side of the floor plan with the plan north dedicated to providers and staff. Providers are able to communicate efficiently within their departments while serving patients within their assigned corridor. To address patient way-finding, the acoustic perforated ceiling defines the walking path as reflected in the circulation. Entrance Reception Patient

Patients enter the hallway where they’ll enter into the exam or consultation room. Plant shelves from the reception follow into the hallway. Perforated wood ceiling allows light to pass though casting shadows along the walls imitating natural sunlight passing through the leaves of trees.
Typical Exam Room
Exam rooms are equipped with modern technology to detect physical, chemical and biological signals. Doctors are able to use this information to provide treatments in consideration with the patients’ interest in other methods of treatment. These sensors can collect information for future medical research.

Infusion Suite
Frequent infusion suite patients go past the doors by the reception to enter the infusion suite. As frequent visitors, patients are cued with the ceiling pattern as it reflects the patient flow. Harmony is achieved here through the continuous curve in the ceiling between interior spaces.
The infusion suite is a spa-like environment that serves hospitality amenities. As this suite is intended for modern treatments, the design respects the treatment and can be seen in its materials.

Brain Food is a bookstore with a complementing book-inspired bakery. It is located in a historical building in downtown San JosĂŠ, California. The design challenge of this project is to encourage people from all generations to pick up a physical book and interact with nature instead of staying at home with an eBook. A restraint attached to this project was to preserve the historic building. Therefore, the existing structure and windows could not be altered. To encourage people to pick up a physical book, there
are three checkpoints in this bookstore: the bakery, retail store, and lounge area.

Concept
The fibrous nature of paper cells provides a structural unit to hold up a page in a book. Each fiber depends on each other just like how people depend on each other to develop relationships. This idea of connections has inspired Brain Food to be a space for others to connect-just like the fibers found in paper.
58
Concept in Design
To incorporate biophilic design, the casework, lighting, and ceiling work in unison to create a three-dimensional immersive space as if people are inside a book that’s microscopically made up from small fibers. The branches spread out of the trunk of the ceiling into the bookstore as if the tree
grew into the bookstore and sprouted books.

Bakery
The first checkpoint is the book-inspired bakery. A transparent panel allows customers to observe how their food is made. Each item is inspired by a story from the books in the bookstore. Associating the customer to a book-inspired item is a way to spark creativity and interests, leading them into the bookstore out of curiosity.

Retail
After exposing the customer to books through food, the customer enters the second checkpoint, the retail bookstore. To incorporate biophilic design, the casework, lighting, and ceiling work in unison to create a three-dimensional immersive space as if people are inside a book that’s microscopically made up from small fibers.
66
67
Lounge
The last checkpoint is the lounge area in the mezzanine. The mezzanine can be accessed by the elevator by the bakery or the stairs at the end of the retail store to encourage people to experience the bakery and retail checkpoints. This space provides an area to socialize, eat, and/or read a book.

The Mother Board is a take on Silicon Valley’s influence in every industry by accepting the truthful reality of its power. The Mother Board is a salad bar located in Sunnyvale, California in Silicon Valley, home to the world’s largest high-tech companies, and thousands of tech startups. Tech is altering the way people think, speak, act, behave, and eat. The Mother Board acts as the running engine that runs the surrounding area by fueling the people. The ingredient to a healthy running system begins in the interior (of the body and device).

The Mother Board is a salad bar located in Sunnyvale, California in Silicon Valley, home to the world’s largest high-tech companies, and thousands of tech startups. The area consists of many offices and residential homes.
Its existing condition is located on the first floor of a rectilinear building. A challenge of this was to create an attractive place due to lack of restaurants near by. The strategy was to create the “heart” of Silicon Valley.
