URBAN FARMING MARKET Location: Long Island City, New York Program: Mixed Use Client: Forager - Local Farm/Store Year: May, 2017 Area: 43500 sq/ft
CONCEPT Considering the fast-paced lifestyle for New Yorkers, they busy on working and commuting, instead of life. They can only enjoy the relaxing time on the country during the weekends. I hope to design a self-sufficient urban farming market to support multi-generational people’s need. If there is a place can have the farm in the city, it will helpful to reduce commuter’s pressure. If this place have a cooking and growing session for housewifive, an agriculture knowledge field trip for students, a cozy environment for the elderly, New Yorkers life can convert from fast-paced to slow tempo. 1

NIGHT HOTEL Location: Old Montreal, CA Program: Hospitality Design Year: December 2016 Area: 15500 sq/ft
CONCEPT Night Hotel is a boutique hotel locating in Old Montreal, which is a multi-cultural city. Inspired by the Old Montreal’s art atmosphere and Cirque du Soleil, the idea is to use the geometry to represent the silence and mystery of the Old Montreal, using the blue color to represent the elegant of the Old Montreal, using the lighting group to create the night feeling. Hoping the night hotel can satisfy the customers needs, giving people the quiet and comfortable environment. Trying to show the best culture of Montreal to world travelers, letting them want to stay.

For the guestroom, I want to divide the private space and public space, so I make the left part into the public space, providing the place for party or watching TV. The right space is totally a private space.

In order to meet the customers’ needs, developing the brick & mortar store, I want to make this store into a experience center or concept store, mainly for exhibition and interaction. The main purpose is to create a relaxed atmosphere for customers to experience how to make cosmetics. Another idea is original from Antelope Canyon, which is a sculpture created by the nature. In this store, I hope each

girl can feel their face like a sculpture. So I use the curve shelves to make the ‘indoor Antelope Canyon’.

The plan of the third floor continue the concept of rose, using rose elements in the furnitures, like computer desks. I use the huge windows on the wall of corridor. When people stands in the hallway, they can see the whole view of the library.

This is the classroom floor, I design the plan into ‘L’ shape which looks organized and simple. When people reach this floor, they can appreciate students’ art works at first. Beside exhibition area is students’ lockers. Because of the characteristics of fashion design, each student has a sewing machine. Besides, I also design the students’ desk, each student has their own material boxes on the table.
