BAITCASTING COMPONENT MATERIALS
Our SV system is made with one thing in mind, casting control. The design of the spool, as well as how the spool interacts with the braking system, gives maximum control and ease of use when it comes to the situations people might generally struggle with.
Whether it is casting lightweight baits, skipping, pitching, casting into the wind, or even if you are just getting accustomed to baitcasting reels—SV is designed to help you excel. When set properly, SV reels virtually eliminate backlashes.
SV BOOST takes our SV system one step further—with a two stage braking system, as opposed to the single stage of an SV SPOOL.
This gives you the same casting control benefits you would get from a reel equipped with SV, now with the added benefit of increased casting distance with small and lightweight lures.
MAGFORCE-Z Similar in design to our SV system. Reels with MAGFORCE-Z excel when it comes to casting control while fishing bigger, heavier baits.
Our standard reels have a fixed rotor on the spool, meaning the braking pressure is consistent across the entirety of the cast.
MAGFORCE-Z incorporates a spool that has a dynamic rotor that can adjust out and back from the spool. This gives you maximum control and casting precision.
MAG-Z BOOST takes our Magforce Z system one step further—with a two stage braking system, as opposed to the single stage of a the MAGFORCE-Z.

T-WING SYSTEM (TWS)
T-Wing’s wider aperture means reduced angles and less line friction when casting from any position.
ZERO ADJUSTER
Once set properly, there is no need to make further adjustments, hence the name. This feature is designed to set the tension control very acurately and it stays in position firmly to allow full free-spool with almost no side-play in the spool optimizing your casting distance and performace.
ZERO SHAFT
Daiwa’s unique system floats the spool independently on precision, stainless steel ball bearings. The pinion rides on its own separate shaft, allowing the spool to spin freely, unhampered by gear train friction when casting.
ULTIMATE
TOURNAMENT DRAG (UTD)
Utilizes impregnated carbon drag discs with proprietary Daiwa DSG505 grease. The effective drag power is considerably increased compared to normal drag systems. The advantage is the reduced start-up resistance of the drags providing a smooth and steady feel.
MAGFORCE ® MAGNETIC BACKLASH CONTROL A spool braking system designed to slow the spool speed with magnetic force according to desired settings, in order to prevent overrun.

A new spool skirt design further reduces weight for improved oscillation, less resistance during rotation and better overall balance of the reel.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT AIRDRIVE BAIL
Designed with a smaller diameter, reducing the weight of the front unit, while still providing strength. In comparison to previous light weight models, weight is reduced by 33% (2500 size). The angle of the bail has also been altered, improving line management by guiding the line through the line roller with ease.
MAGSEALED® LINE ROLLER
MAGSEALED® technology improves line roller durability and smoothness for less line friction and twists.
MAGSEALED® MAIN SHAFT
Utilizing our patented MAGSEALED technology to apply magnetic oil that can change density and shape when a magnetic field is added.
Produces a low-friction seal that keeps water, dust and grit from reaching the internal components of the reel. The result is a watertight seal with virtually no resistance compared to rubber type seals.
A newly developed Rotor maintains the strength of previous designs, while significantly reducing weight. A 16% weight reduction from previous light weight models allows for trouble free, flawless rotation.
A non contact structure between the mainshaft and the pinion gear allows for friction free rotation. In addition, both ends of the pinion gear are now supported with bearings to relay the crank power from the handle to the rotor with a higher level of efficiency. By adding high quality collars to the mainshaft, rotational noise has been reduced significantly for a smooth, quiet rotation that provides added torque and power.
