Daniel Miller My Perspectives Within the realm of nonprofit organizations, I am greatly interested in working with disadvantaged and immigrant populations. Being able to help people in these situations is something in which I feel that I am truly passionate. I envision myself managing an organization and finding ways in which to push the envelope, progressing and developing needed services. For example, providing education for children, whose maternal language is not the dominant language, helping young students who live in single parent households, worker-training programs in industries other than agriculture, and second language acquisition programs are all things that need a great amount of attention in North America and beyond. These are all things I want to learn about so I can put my knowledge to use to help build the services that are in such high demand for so many people.

On the other hand, although we live in the Information Age, the lack of discourse and a coherent understandable media amongst people on their government, especially in the United States, is a huge problem. The fact that three years after the invasion of Iraq, half the people of the United States still believe there was a connection between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein when evidence proves otherwise is appalling. Looking into how one can get people to become interested and invested in politics in order to take responsibility for their government as a society is a huge issue that I believe needs to be addressed and of which I have a great deal of interest.

Given the tools and having a passion for teamwork, I feel that I have a genuine desire to work and make a difference in people’s lives. I know however, that I cannot accomplish this alone, and that by energizing and rallying those with similar interests, the amount of work and progress to be made is unfathomable.
